I do strenuous gym workouts five mornings a week and do not have what you describe. I get Afib attacks maybe once a month, always in the middle of the night after eating a restaurant meal plus occasional intermittent ectopics. However, twice in the last 5 years the afib events have started early in my workout while doing aerobic exercise.

Can I ask how high you get your HR during the peak of your exercises?

My heart rate while on the elliptical goes up to 110. Recently, at my cardiologist's insistence, taking a low dose of time release DILT it only goes up to 100.

I used to get palpitations an hr or so after a gym workout, got more frequent over time. Had ablation mar this year and now doing baby steps in the gym and so far so good.

Yes indeed. I get them as I warm up and during and then for a bit afterwards, whether cycling or weight training. With the changes in blood pressure and fluctuations in heart rate I suppose it's expected. Heavy beta blocker therapy mutes it somewhat but the workouts are a real struggle so I tend to go with lowest dose possible so I can enjoy the workouts and keep some level of performance. I've learned I have more palps on the down slope....i.e., as my heart rate returns to resting so I have built in not only warm up time, but sufficient cool down time as well. After a long cycle, I sit in an Adirondack chair in the yard between my favorite trees and just mellow out until my heart rate returns to normal and all is stable again. The extra adrenaline runs it's course and I brace for a flurry of ectopics as I work through the heart rate ranges in reverse. Similar tactic after powerlifting,...except I'm on the couch with a glass of water. Going right back to work or chores is a recipe for even more palps and associated stress/anxiety. You are not alone in this regard....

Wow everything you just mention relates to me as soon as I feel I skipped beat afterwards than my anxiety goes in overdrive as my adrenaline takes over so you get and skipped beats during exercise or just after?

Hi diagnosed with atrial flutter i am currently on 300mg of dilitiazem. I started cycling to try and get a bit fitter. Started at 5 miles a week now at 50 to 60 miles a week. My HR goses straight to 140 as soon as a turn a peddle and reached as high as 198 even with the dilitiazem. I am in the process of going for ablation hopefully soon. I go into afib 3 or 4 times a day before during and after exercise it doesnt seem to mind when. biggest issue for me is when i come out of it and my HR drops to 40.
