waking daily heart racing
May I suggest that you speak to your doctor about having a sleep test to see if you have sleep apnea?
I will ask but haven’t been gasping for breath and don’t snore my partner has said as he kept eye on me or don’t you have to
Just asleep and then wake up heart racing check my pulse its 90s calm down go lightheaded and pulse 53-58
I’m unsure if my dose is to high bisoprolol 2.5 but dr said it’s not and wants to adjust it,, I do want it reducing
Before I was in pain with gastritis bp sat at a nice 118-125 over 70-80s but feel my heart rate drops a little to low I do like it’s gone down as before it was 90-115 before medication but lost 2 stone since been on , also have recent anemia which could being influenced by gastritis so unsure if that as know can make you feel funny
Sorry for going on but feel got let it out but really thank you for reply x
Even if you are not snoring or gasping for air on waking that doesn’t mean that you can be confident you haven’t got sleep apnea - these are just two possible symptoms of it. I would suggest speaking to your GP about this.
Ah okay I always thought that was the symptoms I will have a look at that and speak to gp about it ,,
it’s only since I started the bisoprolol no issues with it before then
But I’ll definitely ask when I have told them of my symptoms did me a ecg but that was normal
Thank you so much for replying any advice helps my poor little brain at the minute x
I suffer with constant disturbed sleep (insomnia) and know well what you are going through regarding feeling exhausted in the daytime. I don't have the racing heart on waking, though, unless I wake after a bad dream, which I have often enough. Perhaps you have dreams but don't remember them?
From what I've read, it might be linked to your gastric symptoms. I've read that these can lead to irritation of the nearby vagus nerve and that this can cause swings in heartbeat. If it is "vagal af" as it is called, then I've read that a beta-blocker might make things worse.
Regarding sleep apnoea, this article suggests that your partner is right:

Hi yeah I’m same I want to sleep but doesn’t let me takes me a good few hours I go bed dark and see the light outside ,,
I have had I don’t know what they are nightmares or weird dreams where I’ve sorta woke up not opened my eyes but it still happening and my heart does go off then and get so hot since bisoprolol too , could that happen and me not know about it sometimes too
Oh really that’s interesting as my stomach started bloating 4 weeks later after starting beta blocker and found my sleep disrupted everyday since then where as was just the odd days ,, which always puts that question in my head it can’t be bisoprolol as woulda had before I just don’t know like why I’m unsure that I need to change but then when feel awful makes me question again and don’t wanna go on another which could give me side effects which could be worser
Do you think that could cause the waking up too with the gastritis
Wish I could find things im so untechy for my age , but this forum always my 1st port call as people have helped my mentality since being on them in March and feel real people advice is key
Thank you I will take look at that link too
Thank you so much seems daft but someone with a bit of advice really helps
Julie x
I’ve taken a look at the link sleep apnea and the only bill to fit me is I’m sadly overweight but I’ve lost 2 stone n a bit since March since so wouldn’t this of affected me at a bigger me but I’ll ask drs opinion on what they think though all I can do
So wish a dr could jump into bodies and be you for the day and be like yep it’s that x
I've often wished my wife could feel what I feel for five minutes!! I might get more sympathy then. I find it can be quite a lonely feeling at times.
Steve
Yeah I understand that I feel they don’t understand the extent we feel ,, even though they try help wholeheartedly its just feel they don’t get what going through ,, yeah like you try explain and they just don’t know or what to do I feel they are just as scared as us sometimes tho but try not show coz we end up panicking more about things ,, but yeah I do feel alone most times x
Yes. My sleep has been horrible lately. :/
Aww that’s awful to hear I am so sorri you are feeling this way too it’s really awful
Do you have any triggers that could set you off or new meds that maybe sets it off or Has yours just come on

Look I really feel for you it such a rotten thing.I am medication intolerant and excersise intolerant to. My doc got rouñd it by giving me a bottle of 30mg Diltiazem tabs as a pill in the pocket approach. This works well for me.
1 before bed. Another if i wake at night which was usually 3 hrs later and then 3 hrs later again. I usually find i needed 1 or 2 times during the day. I had both afib and aflutter at the same time.
About 6 weeks ago the afib lefy je but i am still with the aflutter which is actually a big relief.
I need pace and ablate to get more comfortable with it and i have been called up by the hospital so it may not be long.
Try the pill in the pocket approach. See your doctor about it.
Hope youfind a solution soon.
Colin

Sure sounds like sleep apnea.
