Hello, I had an EP study and Ablation 3 weeks ago today for AVRT. All seems fine with regard to my heart. The odd skipped beat but seems to become more mild as time goes by. I am slightly concerned about my groin healing though. I had minimal bruising and was up and walking fairly quickly. I do still feel 2 firm spots/lumps that have a pulse slightly above the puncture site. I don’t have any pain associated with them but understand there is a risk of aneurysms.
Has anyone experienced something similar and is this all part of the healing process or should I be more wary?
Thanks
Jack

If there is no pain and the area is not inflamed or showing signs of infection then it should be OK but it might be worth having it checked in a day or two if there is no change......
Yes - I had a hematoma in the groin area the size of large walnut which took weeks to dissipate. It’s quite usual after catheter insertion but I do wish that medics would warn us of these so it doesn’t cause concern.,
I had a hematoma (hard lump of blood) in my groin. I was convinced some sort of wide tube had been left behind and sought advice just about everywhere I could = nursing friends, my GP and A&E. All was fine and it eventually disappeared.
