2 Week Update

Well, I'm back........ just like that verruca you thought you'd seen the back of 😁.

2 weeks today since A day and the first day, dare I say, that I have felt fairly ok.

The arnica seems to be tackling the bruising admirably and I salute hubby for his twice daily, dutiful application of it, even though his technique is reminiscent of waxing the car (not quite Karate Kid) but beggars can't be choosers.

I still have a higher resting pulse and the odd pulse surge but know this is to be expected. Even putting on some hand cream before getting into bed the other night produced a heart rate of 138. I know I can be vigorous in my application at times but not that vigorous. It has hit 150 at times but hopefully, has settled a bit.

I have, however, developed a really irritating dry, ticklish cough in the last few days. Thankfully, it's not keeping me awake, so far, but it is getting on my wick. Doing a search, it would appear that others have experienced the same. Just a problem if you venture out in these times as coughing in public produces a response akin to a bolt of lightning striking the ground next to folk. Any thoughts on the best way to get rid of it gratefully received.

Getting the odd palpitation too but trying not to dwell on it. Have definitely been embracing my slothness but today, I did pop out for a 20 min walk in the sunshine. Hubby has been back to work this week, probably much to his delight, although he probably thinks he's gone deaf now 😁. Its been good to get back custody of the remote control but I did get chastised for loading the dishwasher today.

So all in all, I'm certainly feeling better than I did 2 weeks ago. Still a bit breathless on occasion, still getting twinges, palpitations, still bruised, coughing, high pulse and surges but otherwise, ok 😁.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Ang.

Glad you are feeling okay today. I am 8 days post ablation. I have had a few rough days myself. Last night was one of them, I had a lot of palpitations . Was able to go to sleep but then it woke me up at 3am. Thankfully they finally let up by 6am so I could take a nap. The rest of my day I have felt okay. Haven’t done much at all and was warned by my husband to not touch the dishes too lol. I guess it is definitely good to take it slow and easy and be patient. Which is the hardest for me lol. Pray you have more days of feeling good.

Most things I expected, having read the info leaflets and the guides on here but what really took me by surprise, was the extent of the bruising I had in my leg and having to have a vascular ultrasound because of it. Here's to both of us having a smoother ride through this.😊.

Wow, that would have been unexpected to me too. I ended up starting to bleed (a lot) when I got up for the first time. They had to apply a lot of pressure for a bit . I figured I would bruise even worse because of that but I didn’t. It was bruised but definitely not that bad. My bruise is almost gone now. Hope it’s better now.

I'm two weeks ahead of you so to speak and the difference is noticeable. Yesterday I went for two short walks because I had the energy. I've resumed cooking duties and am doing gentle yoga. We run a home business so I am directing operations either from the sofa or bed, depending on time of day (this is a good wheeze and I might continue 😃). But I am also still taking rests and lie downs as needed. Yesterday I had loads of energy, today I know already I'll have less as I've woken up feeling tired. So long as things improve, that's what matters.

Glad all's going well and as for the tickly cough I can recommend Jakemans throat and chest soothing menthol sweets, the original ones in the black packet.

I agree. My partner has a cough that comes and goes and finds the Jakemans black packet sweets good. Also a spoon of honey soothes and stops it.

Hi, glad you’re feeling better. I’m 9 days post ablation, biggest issue for me has been tiredness. A lot more than I anticipated but I’m feeling a tiny bit stronger each day. I’ve also had some palpitations, like you, but that is to be expected. I’m due back at work next week and not looking forward to it.

🤣🤣🤣. As an Advanced Foot Health Practitioner, I'd have to disagree with that 🤣🤣🤣. They did find it amusing in the hospital when I refused to remove my socks as I was not about to walk about barefoot in that environment 😁.

Oh yes, I forgot about your job. Wrong person to use my husband's folklore on!!But, I wanted to ask before, exactly what is an advanced foot practitioners, is it like a chiropodist or a podiatrist or ...?

Yes, similar but I don't perform nail surgery.😊.

So pleased you seem to have turned the corner. Just don't try to do too much! Says she who decided to spend hours in the garden the other day..... The new meds are helping but I think turning myself into a full time gardener isn't supposed to be on the cards just yet 😱 Do keep us updated and now go and enjoy being in charge of the remote 😜 xx

I am trying to be sensible. I did venture to Asda on my own today with hubby on a train a couple of hundred miles away worrying but I pointed out to him I can't stay in forever. I just took things slow, just one lift of a bag into the boot then decanted the shopping into another bag when I got home to split the load. I'm itching to get in the garden but will hold back for a little while longer as I still have another couple of weeks before I'm back at work.😊
