As some of you know I broke my shoulder ( and 3 ribs as it turns out,) on 27 th March.
Today I had The Call for my ablation with Proff Osman. They won't do it until fractured have healed .
So will contact me again.
So fed up. Been waiting 18 months and finally convinced myself it's a good idea to accept it.
Ah well,back to the audio books ..

Oh thats beyond upsetting. Sorry to hear about your injury and ablation postponement on top of it. Always something isnt there. Get your shoulder and ribs healed then once ablation is done you can move forward in a better way. Best wishes.
Ah! what a nightmare Wilson, sorry to hear that, everything happens for a reason, I was gutted the same when mine got postponed the first time but turned out for the good, think the same, hugs sent.

How disappointing for you, but I guess they have some valid reasons for not going ahead with your ablation while you have a broken shoulder and ribs. To be honest in your situation I think I'd rather my ablation was postponed. I've had three and with hindsight don't think I'd want to have had any of them while bones in my body were sore from being broken. Better to get over one thing at a time.

Ach no - I feel for you. As if it isn't hard enough to cope with your injuries, life chucks another wobbly at you. The important thing is to get healed and well - don'tfret about it, another opportunity will come along.

I am recovering from a broken shoulder too, but to have broken ribs too must be terrible. I think you have enough to put up with without an ablation on top. You must be disappointed I know, but just give yourself time.

Oh Wilson I am sorry. Talk about sods law. I’m with you there about the crying with temper and upset. At least having ablation later the weather will be better and you can sit in the sun to rest, rest, rest. Just concentrate on healing now and your turn will come again soon enough. Big hugs. xxx

No wonder you were in such pain - three relatives have had broken ribs and said even breathing was excrutiating. And to get your appointment for ablation now, I would have been howling too! Take things very easy, heal well and then remind them you are ready and waiting. Best of luck xx
Thank you Irene! I feel better in myself today and rang the cardio unit. They assured me I was just medically deferred and won't be back to bottom of list. So now I'll just keep reading and watching TV and bird table !Thank you and take care your self x

Devastating and not a lot anyone can say to make it any better for now, but keep reminding yourself that once you have the ablation you will feel well again (in time). Hopefully your still at the top of the list waiting for your body to be ready, even if your not the Doc will have you on the cancellation list and there are regular cancelations as you have found out.

Oh no!! That is Murphy's Law indeed. You must be gutted. If it's any consolation it looks like they are catching up on ops and procedures right now so hopefully it won't be another 18 months. Once you're healed let them know you'll jump in on any last minute cancellations. Fingers crossed for all of that.
Yes, that is just typical, I should have had my ablation a year ago and then in October it was cancelled because of an outbreak of Covid in the hospital - actually in the Cardio unit even though they had isolated it from the rest of the hospital. I was in two minds about the ablation too but had organised my covid test and was just coming round to it as short notice of just about a week given and then EP called to say he would contact me early this year - well that's not happened yet.
Hope you heal well and will soon be fit and ready for your ablation again.

Well it gets worse - sort of. Bent down to pick something off the floor before breakfast yesterday and went into AF - usually persistent AF. Anyway was due telephone consultation with cardio nurse at 9 - that's why I was up early. While on the phone to cardio nurse did my BP and was not in AF ????? She asked me to send in some reports which we enveloped up and went to the post box with after lunch and I was back in AF! Wife said I should write on the back of the envelope back in AF now! AF continued for the rest of the day. Went to bed - didn't have a very good night with one thing and another but this morning not in AF. Can't figure this out. Anyway emailed the EP's secretary so hope she will get back to me. To be honest the way things are - even though I have had both injections, the last one will be two weeks ago on Sunday. I would rather have another CV and wait before going in for ablation - I just don't feel safe re Covid at the moment - especially going into the Cardiac Unit where 15 people came down with Covid last October. As far as triggers go for me it looks like I can't bend and can't pick up heavy boxes - and of course you bend to pick up boxes so maybe it's the bending with me? It could be a lot worse. I am still hoping to visit my sister next week if restrictions in Wales and England are lifted. It will be the anniversary of her husbands death. So fingers' crossed all will be well, though as the time gets nearer I am worried about possibly catching or spreading the virus when visiting her. Its such a minefield and I am probably more nervous visiting her now than I was last August as we are so close to probably knocking this virus on the head it would be awful if something happened again now. Ah well. Let's hope for good weather so that we can sit out in the garden with a takeaway with her.
I am so sorry. You are in a rotten place. Just lousy luck. Still on the brightish side (if there can be said to be one) at least when you have your ablation the covid situation should be much better. I am not surprised you have been crying. Quite natural and I gather that tears can excrete all sorts of harmful things which is why one often feels better after a good cry. Have a virtual hug which won’t hurt your shoulder and ribs. Have you tried sniffing essential oil of lavender and rubbing some on your wrists? It is very calming, smells wonderful, and cannot do any harm.

Gosh poor you, what bad luck missing out in ablation but my gosh that’s a nasty accident you’ve had and must be very uncomfortable. I broke one rib and that was painful enough, so curtailing.Chin up,

I did a good job ! Fell over a small fence ...had a large open tin of fence paint in hand and remember thinking don't cover yourself with paint as I went down...really !!! So think I fell v awkwardly.Silly....

Oh no. I can well imagine how disappointed and peed off u must be. Hope your healing goes well and get better soon. My ablation is next Wednesday so I better be careful not to fall over or do anything to myself. X

I am so sorry that this delay has happened. Is it not possible that they could set a date sometime in the future based on your expected recovery time? That way you have a firm date to look forward to.
So sorry to hear your bad news. I've got my ablation appt possibly with Prof Osman or possibly Dr Yusuf in a couple of weeks and would be very frustrated if it got cancelled. I ended up in hospital over Easter weekend and had another cardioversion to tide me over so fingers crossed, nothing interferes with mine. I shall certainly be trying to avoid broken bones now. Hope you get better soon.
Bummer. I tore my shoulder cuff and oh my god did that take time to heal!!! Had fun learning to do everthing with my left hand though. Gave me a reason to get arm muscles for the first time in my life!! But it is so sore and depressing having a useless dangling arm that can't help you out ...I used to always pick up my tea with the bad hand and then drop it...must have broken as many cups and plates!! Might I advise you top buy some cheap one a till your arm is better! And time really drags in lockdown. Drags and flies at the same time. Such a bummer all round. But hope you get well soon and your shoulder and rib heal nicely. Its so good when you can sue the arm again you'll be flying it!

Sorry to hear about your fall wilsond, I fell a while ago and tried to hold on to my bag, with visions of it flying open and the contents being strewn all across the pavement while I was out shopping.....a distant memory in itself since Covid! It meant that my fall was worse because I didnt put my hands out to save myself, was more trying to hold on to my bag!! Luckily for me it only only resulted in a nasty bang to the head. So I know where youre coming from when you say you were thinking not to get yourself covered in paint......
How disappointing and frustrating to then have your ablation appointment come through, I feel for you, though I do believe all things are for a reason, and that it may become clearer in time what this delay was about. Stay strong.
Fingers crossed for you that you recover quickly and get another appointment through soon after.

Oh that is awful no wonder you are browned off(to put it mildly😉) having said that, you need time to heal those ribs the ablation right now might be a bit too much. Best wishes for new abl date.😀
