I am scheduled to have my secound vaccine this morning . I woke up at 3 am with a fib . It usually lasts 12 to 25 hours . Not sure if I should go get vaccinated today . A lot of my co workers have gone this week for there 2nd shot and have had bad reactions ? Chills , fever , body aches etc. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

Better than covid. At least it won't put you into AF if you already are. Why not go anyway and speak to them when you get there.

Hi , thank you for your advice. I got lucky my a fib stopped by 12 noon so I was still able to get the vaccine. I had put a call into my cardiologist and they didn’t even know what I should do. Nobody knows how sad. So far so good.

I can't tell you what to do Jance.

However for me (personally) I would be first there. Your afib was not bought on last night from having the second jab (as you haven't had it yet).

Of course it's your call. Others may disagree but I would be first in the queue.

Just my opinion.

Hi Paul , thank you for your advice . I normally get a fib for 12 to 17 hours but I got lucky it was only 9 . So I was still able to get the vaccine. Apparently if you miss your appt. you have per the CDC a 6 weeks time frame from when you got the first one. Of course I wouldn’t wait that long. So far so good. Thank you again .

I wondered about having my eye injections when I was in afib once and a cardiologist friend said to do it snd not mention the afib.!! People in permanent afib presumably have the vaccine but you could check with your doctor if you are worried.

Hi Jances :-) I wondered about going for the Vaccination with an episode of AF from the point of view that I won't drive when I have AF so will need to arrange transport and I have already done that.

There is no way I will miss my turn in the queue for a second vaccination just because my heart is misbehaving on that day.

Plenty of us are in permanent AFib and don’t think twice about having the annual flu jab. To be honest it never occurred to me not have the COVID jab because of my AFib.

I suspect that the biggest worry about getting the COVID jab whilst in AFib is worrying about getting the COVID jab whilst in AFib😉

I'm in permanent AF at the moment and had the vaccine without making it any worse.

Thank you ! I was concerned that it would make the a fib last longer than normal .

Well my first jab gave me AFib and a lot have complained about getting it after their first jab so not sure about the second one hope it doesn’t, it may be that we are worrying about the vacs more than we actually realise and that’s causing the AFib mine lasted 3days last time my Husband has his second one today he’s high risk it knocked him off his feet second day of his first one stayed in bed all day didn’t eat either he’s stage 4renal and arthritic his injections take away his immune system , was ok next day

Not interested in another vaccine! Treatments such as Molnupiravir, Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine have shown a 62 percent effectiveness with early treatment. Paxlovid only a 32 percent. Multiple studies from different countries have shown these results. Making sure I have availability to at least one of these in case I get covid.
