Help us help NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) by filling out this short survey. It'll only take 5 minutes of your time and your contribution will help in the treatment of AFib patients. We thank you for your support! 💚
You could have put because you've never been asked, didn't want to, or get on well with Warfarin, even 'that you're thinking about whether to change'.
A nurse, or may have been a trainee GP at my surgery - she did say, but it's gone from my head now, rang me a few weeks ago and we had a long discussion re changing.
Yes, as others have said very poor survey. Missing the first question - are you on any medication at all (me, no) and the second one are you on any anti coags at all (me, still no). Hopefully no NIChE decisions will be made on the back of this but you do fear...
Survey produced by a graduate newly taken on at NICE maybe? Anyway, someone who knows nothing about the subject and has been asked to prepare a survey from a basis of what they think they know.
I saw three questions. The first was along the lines of "Have you ever switched from Warfarin to a DOAC?" I didn't answer but will return to the survey of it allows me to say "yes I have, but I switched back to Warfarin."
If you say no to switching, it asks if you were offered a switch, then if you say yes it asks why you did not switch and you can say you tried it and didn't like it!
But if you have never been on Warfarin only DOACs there is no option to say so except after the last question" why did you choose not to change from warfarin?"Have seen better surveys !
I think the reasoning behind it are to find those who remain on warfarin and find out why. In my case it's simply because I have a very high time in range and then warfarin is better that the DOACs. I sincerely hope they don't do away with patient choice.
Reading everyone's comments the survey seems to vary with the answers you give. Most of my questions were about difference in quality of life on warfarin and on DOACs
Question regarding health improvements with DOAC and asking me to describe those improvements exceeded my patience and I bailed on the survey. Anticoagulants are for stroke prevention; I didn't expect any "improvements" in my overall good health.
Not sure of the validity of this. Doesn't say it only applies to those on Warfarin! Three questions about whether you chose to change over to DOACs or were offered them
