That should say 150 Heart rate

Hello Annie, just seen this so you are probably in bed having an early night in preparation for tomorrow. A lot depends on how you respond to the CV tomorrow. There are no guarantees, but they normally work but it’s impossible to say for how long. Obviously I don’t know what you know, but a CV is an important part of the AF treatment plan because if it works, even for a short period and you feel better for it, it indicates that you might respond well to an ablation later. The important thing is to try and remain calm and take things very easy after the treatment for as long as possible to give your heart a better chance of remaining in NSR. Good luck, please let us know how you get on and enjoy the tea ‘n biscuits when it’s all over......👍

Possibly an ablation in your future. I've had 4. Can return you to some semblance of normal. Consult with a top EP.

My electro-cardio doc told me drugs lose their effectiveness after a while, and sometimes turning to previous drugs that you took, will work again.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard breakout on Tykosyn. You may not get as many replies as normal because I don't believe that drug is used in Europe. I have been on 500mg x 2 since 2012 and it has been the best drug of all that I've tried so far I may still have a brief episode every day, but it is mild and last usually no longe than 20 minutes. I waited far too long to try it because I did not want to do the 3 days titration in the hospital. I was gauged for the 500mg x 2 and perhaps your current condition might allow a strengthening of your dosage??. Good luck with the CV - I have had 4 in the early years of AF ( it began for me in 2005). I will never forget the first one. Just before the paddles were applied my cardiologist looked down and said " Remember those life style changes we were talking about, JT?" . I then quit drinking at his suggestion for 3 years with absolutely no positive effect, but I tried. lol

The recommended dose of Tikosyn in 500 mg twice daily. Not sure why you were prescribed half that. Hopefully the CV will work and you will be placed on the correct dose which may solve your problem. Best of luck
