Vaccine reaction

I had the Pfizer vaccine yesterday and unfortunately was in af when I woke at 4 am this morning. I could of course have gone into af last night anyway, therefore nothing to do with the vaccine. Who knows! Anyway, I took my pip and all was well 2 hours later. I thought I should report it on the yellow card site though. I'm confused by one of the questions though. It asks for my age and below that is another box which asks for Patient age unit (years, months etc). I have to select either, Year, Month, Week, Day, Hour or decade. I really don't know what that means, can anyone help?

I couldn't understand the yellow card point you mention either so eventually abandoned it. My heart was so off kilter after my AZ vaccine. Sorry you had similar pleased its resolved for you now.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm fine now albeit very tired, but that's not unusual after a bout of af.

I had trouble with the yellow card report too. If I remember correctly, I put in my age and then Years in the appropriate box and I was able to move on. It took me a while to complete as you have to put in all your medications and what they are for individually and then press Add to put the next one in. Not straightforward. By the way it was concerning my first Pfizer vaccine. I went into fast AF the following day and despite my regular meds- Flecainide and Bisoprolol I didn’t go back into normal rhythm until 26 hours later. Never have I had an episode this long. Hope you are feeling better now.

I had the same experience with the Pfizer but 5 long episodes over a few days after. ? Coincidence ? Who knows

Yes who knows but as it was so unusual for me to have such a long episode I do feel it was linked to the jab. I suppose if I have a similar experience following the second jab I will be pretty much convinced that it is a reaction. A couple of days ago there was a similar post on here where someone reported speaking to a nurse at the British Heart Foundation. The nurse apparently said they are getting reports of heart issues following the jabs Including palpitations in people without known heart issues as well as those with known AF.

Thank you for replying. My episodes were between 10-14hrs. Normally lasted 7 1/2 Max. My cardio has raised my sotolol to Max dose now. As you say 2nd jab may be more telling. Hope you ok now. I’ll be 3 weeks in on Monday. Those episodes started on day 4.

Yes, feeling better thank you. I think I may now leave it until after I've had the second vaccine to see whether it happens again, if it does I'll report it then. Thank you for replying. I hope you've not had any further episodes.

I am always interested in what the usual pattern of AF was prior to the jab. Glad your episode was short lived.

I'm early 7 months post ablation. This is my second AF since Christmas, last one being 15 days prior to this one. My pattern before ablation was around every 10 days, so just hope I'm not slipping back there again!

I has a similar problem filling out the yellow card. In the end I had to give up.

I'm not surprised you did that. I'm going to wait until I've had the second vaccination and see if it happens again.
