I went to the vascular Surgeon yesterday, my clots are gone. But he has no idea why i got them. Did all the blood test. Said it was up to me if I want to get off thinners. Not sure what to do. Any body else have unprovoked clot and blood work was all normal?

If you have AF, which I assume you have as you are a forum member, then you will have a higher chance of developing clots because of the turbulence of blood flow caused when in AF. That’s why you are advised to take anticoagulants - to help prevent the clots from forming. There are other reasons of course and sometimes if there are several possibilities doctors are not able to determine which caused what.

May I suggest the you do a search putting ‘blood clots’ in the search box to see if there have been previous threads on the subject.

This is a group for people with Atria Fibrillation. There are lots of forums on HealthUnlocked. Do you know which forum you wanted to post on?

I wanted to be in forum with people who are experiencing blood clots. Not sure how to get there

I would suggest Circulation Foundation or BHF - British Heart Foundation.

Go to My Hub - click the + button to find a list of all of the forums.

If you have AFIB how can you possibly come off blood thinners that puts you in high risk of a massive stroke or heart attack are you prepared to take that risk my father had a massive stroke and it was awfull and l certainly wouldn’t want that

See reply above - there is no AF.

Depends what blood tests they did. Have they tested for Hughes Syndrome/Antiphospholipid/APS .

I presume your bloods included a test for Factor V Leiden, a significant percentage of the population have it without knowing it until a clot develops.....as I found out to my cost 20yrs ago after a long stressful car journey without breaks. You live and learn!
