I originally had the 1 lead kardia with most of the reading coming back as Normal.
This broke a while back however I found one of the new 6 lead ones on ebay. The seller said it has never been used.
I tired it and the reading car back unclassified.
I've tried it a dozen times and all come back as unclassified.
Has anyone else found this with the 6 lead one.
Oh by the way my pulse felt normal when I took it and have no symptoms whatsoever.

I have no personal experience of the 6 lead Kardia but there have been a number posts which suggest that it is a significantly more sensitive than the single lead version. Try using the search box top right of this page. There are all sorts of suggestions which might be worth trying.......use the filter to find AF Association posts
I have had hundreds of unclassified on the 1 lead but found the 6 lead is a lot more sensitive and picks up much more information, I found that I have to use it in a totally different way and as far away from electrical interference as possible.
It also needs a much steadier platform so to use as a 1 lead it must be on a table and you need to keep very, very still.
When I asked my EP about the number of unclassified after he checked a few of the traces he said it looked like interference to him.
They have been improving the algorithm but it is still relatively new tech and won’t have an answer for everything.
There are two possibilities: either you have bought a faulty one (which may have been known to the seller) or your readings are indeed “unclassified” in terms of Kardia’s algorithm. If you bought the 6L fairly soon after the 1L broke, and the 1L infrequently produced “unclassified” readings and you are unaware of any new heart symptoms, then probably you have aquired a faulty one. This is because the assessment that the 6L version makes is based on a single lead (this is stated at the top of the ECG which the 6L produces). One way of testing would be to get people who don’t have AF to try the 6L and to see what readings they get.
Hi I never had AF I had SVT and had an ablation last year. Since then things have been fine most of the time but had the chance to buy a 6 lead cheaply.. it could be a duff one
It could be duff, but it could also be picking up interference that the old one didn't. You could try sitting very still outside in the garden, or perhaps on a park bench, and taking a reading there. Make sure your phone is in airplane mode, or at least turn off data, so it isn't the phone interfering. You have to be very still, as muscle actions also use similar electrical impulses that your heart is using.
Yes I get unclassified quite often. I find I have to find the correct position when taking the reading. If I get an unclassified when I have symptoms, I send the reading to the arrhythmia nurses for my records as it may help the EP to see what is happening.
