I'm so happy I've been offered my Covid jab next Tuesday afternoon😊☺
Nothing ever simple though, I'm having my ablation Monday AM and hopefully if all goes to plan can leave that day or early Tues morning.
Is there any reason I couldn't have the jab so soon after the ablation if I feel well in myself? I'm just a bit worried as I'm reading stories about it possibly inducing AF and such. There will be no other slots for the jab for at least 3 weeks at my local surgery and I want my jab now, I've been whining long enough for it!! haha!!
I will speak to my EP about this but just wondered if anyone had any knowledge of this xxx
Thank you, you lovely lot.

Much safer to check with your EP Sara, amazing ennit, I should think about going to both on a bus......there seems to be enough of em around just at the moment!!😉. Hope all goes well for you, if there is a clash, the vaccine groups seem to try and be flexible, another thought, ask if the hospital can do both, if you don’t ask, you don’t get.....😉
Hi Flapjack, yep I will ask as soon as I get there and will still have a few hours to cancel if needed. I hope I can have it as my other half will be waiting on me for a few days so if it does make me feel grotty I'm not alone and he can wait on me hand and foot xxx
Sara whilst the great majority of people here who have had their vaccine experienced no major effect on their AF there is always a minority. Add in that you will still be recovering from your ablation and I don't think any of us are qualified to answer so please check with your EP. I feel your frustration but learned many years ago that things happen for a reason.
Hi BobI see you live in Devon and wonder who your cardiologist is? I am under Dr Lovell who is st the RD &E Exeter and have great faith in. Thank you for all your advice.
When I was first diagnosed (2004) RD and E did not have an EP team so all my work has been done in London at Royal Brompton where John Dean sent me.. I do know both Matt Lovell who trained with Richard Schilling and Steve Podds who are both excellent.
Yes you right my pal. Just want it all over with asap and can start looking to the future after such a miserable year. I'm starting to get a bit nervous now but no intention of putting it off and will try to stop dramatising!! Love to you xxx
I had an ablation 14 days ago and got my second vaccine yesterday. No problem other than I feel tired which can be a normal symptom. I was encouraged to get the vaccine by my cardiologist. You will be fine and congratulations on getting an ablation, you will be happy you did it,
I hope i can have it Tuesdsy and so happy you are double jabbed and had the ablation, all the best wishes to you x😊 I'm praying 3rd time lucky for this ablation and can start my life again xxoxx
I agree with Bob and would add that if I were in that position then I would be inclined to ask if you can postpone the jab for a few weeks until you know how you feel after the ablation. It shouldn’t be a problem to postpone the jab.
I had my ablation on thurs 11 feb and will be having my vaccination next Monday. I had the same concerns as you and gave spoken to my arrhythmia nurse and was advised to have the vaccine. Fingers crossed for us both.
