Unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Lots of AF’ers travel long distance, when we are permitted to, frequently.

Just to add to CDreamer's post please if you fly , make sure that you stay well hydrated and of course give the in flight G and T a miss. .

I don' think there is an issue, just remember to take your medicine onboard if you are due to take it whilst in the air, and account for time differences. I have permanent AF and went to America at the end of 2019 without issues.Getting travel insurance can be a right pain though !

It may be a good idea to move your medication a little every day in the week before you travel if like me you take something like apixaban at 8am and then again at 8pm to allow for the time change.

No reason not to as long as you are sensible move around when you can and stay hydrated on the flight. Check with your Doc and cardiologist or EP for your individual case. I flew to Florida whilst in AF and had no problems. Where are you planning on going and when. I am dying to be able to travel a few hundred miles to see my sister here in the UK but looking forward to being able to see my grandchildren and friends in Florida again too.

Great stuff let's hope everything is fine for you and it is not long before you can get there.

Well, I have done in Persistent. My temp control goes haywire, so I take a scarf and a hand fan that sits on the fold down table when in use.

Oh that's my wife though she doesn't have AF that's bloomin' menopause 10 years and counting - they do say with some it doesn't stop as with my Mum she was still getting hot flushes at 80+ . My wife finds it especially bad on night flights going to and from South Africa where my brother lives both journeys are over night as she is either sweating buckets or shivering same coming home from Florida over night. Day time flights don't seem so bad. Sometimes I am glad I only have AF.
