May I ask what was your AF episode pattern before the jab?

One of the very common side effects of Amitriptyline is an irregular, hard or rapid heartbeat, so it sounds like the right thing you've done by stopping taking that. How long ago did you start and stop taking them and what strength are they? I would guess it was a combination of things that has set your heart off, including a little stress re having the covid vaccine.

I have a feeling you will go back into sinus rhythm fairly soon.

Try and keep as calm as you can because anxiety will feed your AF and keep it going.

Thankyou for your help. Looking more likely.blood tests for heart failure no probs. Ecg irregular with elongated QT. I was on them for 3 weeks,10mg. For migraine prevention as I get Tia type symptoms with my migraines.Dont think I should have been prescribed them really. And It was my own concerns & the dear old internet that made me point out to docs it could be the pills.I am starting to feel better .I managed to do a health programme video of about 35 mins today without probs.hope it carries on.Again thankyou.

Based on my own personal experience, persistent afib is much easier to adapt to than random afib attacks that come on without warning and made me want to just sit in my recliner for the day. Since I've been "persistent," it has been much easier to adapt. My heart rate is rarely above 85-100 when resting or 130 or so when walking or exerting myself. I actually am quite happy with "persistent" afib!
