Just a little update , since getting my pacemaker in sept 2020 and AV node ablation 4 weeks later , I am loving life right at this moment , as you can see I’m getting out there a bit more each day , I don’t care what weather is I’m out . I’m not saying it’s been all plain sailing as I have a sore shoulder which I think is due to the walking . I’m just enjoying my quality of life while I can , if my body tells me to rest I will . I had my first vaccine 2 weeks ago and all well ..I still read all the posts on here and it’s nice to see how you are all doing ..have a good day all ...betty ...

Fabulous post Betty, long may it continue. I’m sure it will be helpful to others contemplating similar treatment.......

Very good to hear this Betty . I also would like to walk that far ! What were your endurance levels like prior to the PM etc?

I would be lucky to get just over a mile before I got my pacemaker,I was so breathless and lethargic.I had been like this for a good few years .had ablations and cardio Versions and loads of medication, nothing worked so they said pacemaker and av node ablation.new lease of life now .only on apixiban now .x

Thanks Betty. That's helpful to know . I get rather fed up with all the procedures I've had . I'm listed for ablation 4 but dont really hold out much hope. Will wait to hear from my EP

You are making me feel that maybe I should opt for this and not a 5th ablation. I am just like you were. Can hardly walk around the block before heart rate zooms up to 120.

WELL DONE Betty. Booked your holidays yet?

I have a holiday home in the Lake District, so as soon as we are aloud to go there I will be away for some well deserved walking ...

With luck the cafes will be open, the sun will be shining and afternoon tea will be served as you take the weight of your feet. Live long and prosper.

That’s wonderful news Betty and so glad you posted as looks like that is the decision I now have to make. I am back in persistent AF with very poor quality of life, HR shoots up to 130 every time I even stand up. Have my appointment with EP on 10 March so decision needs to be made. Must be wonderful to be off all meds.

Good luck and thanks again for posting.

Thank you for posting this Betty. I am currently on the waiting list for 'Pace and ablate' and at the moment even find walking from one room to the other a major task. If I can just walk around the shops (once they are open) I will feel as if I've won the lottery. You have given me hope.
