I've had a treatment plan from a doctor for my ME, which involves the PK diet, and I wanted to see whether anybody had any experience of this?

Did it affect your af positively, negatively or not at all?

I've been keto for about 3 years as I was just about to become diabetic type 2. I'm 70 year old male by the way. I lost all my fat pretty quickly.

I'm fairly sure it's helped my AF simply because I'm fitter, leaner, correct BMI and body fat ratio, lighter, much more power to weight ratio. Whereas I might struggle up a hill before, I can now run up. Also, as my doc tells me, everything has improved, my blood especially. Also I'm now just normal and nowhere near being diabetic, without taking any drugs.

Our GP's are very keen on it and glad they put me on this way of eating, seems more natural to me.

But not saying I've been able to come off AF drugs, still the same but I haven't gotten worse, I've almost certainly have a slight improvement.

Thanks Cyrtis, I'm glad to hear that it's been good for you! I'm considering it due to lots of chronic health issues, and it's clear that I've become reliant on sugars, starch and carbs for energy and I'm craving chocolate and sweet things a lot.

It's now something I always have to consider before making any sort of medication/lifestyle change: 'how will it affect my AF'. Even if it doesn't get any worse, I'll take that.

The big thing with this way of eating is it should really only involve natural food.

Forgot to say there is a forum on HealthUnlocked for keto/low carb at:

healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet

Lots of great advice and experienced people on there.

make sure your electrolytes are in balance- can be difficult on diets and will affect AF But if you can eat healthily and lose weight it will help AF
