Does anyone else take Edoxaban here. My gp moved me over from rivaroxaban as a money saving exercise. I have hasn’t started my second months supply and have been having nosebleeds fir the past week which are getting worse. I have booked a telephone call with my gp for next Wednesday as he told me I could change back to rivaroxaban if Edoxaban did not suit me.
My dilemma is do I change myself back as I have a spare supply or rivaroxaban or suffer the nosebleeds till I speak with him.

If your GP has agreed you can go back on the Rivaroxaban, then that's what I'd do with the ones you have and put a request in for more. You can't carry on with those nosebleeds. X
Hi wpw. First I am not medically qualified in any way. Nevertheless if your Doctor has said that you can switch back to rivaroxaban then I don't see why you shouldn't use your spare supply (as long as they are still in date). As you have taken rivaroxaban before, and presumably not had a problem, and also because you know how and when to take rivaroxaban (ie with food) then in these particular circumstances I don't see a problem. The only issue is whether your doctor will definitely prescribe rivaroxaban again as he said he would. As long as you take one type of anticoagulent (and only one at a time) then surely that is the main issue ie do not stop taking anticoagulents altogether it is not worth the risk. I suppose it depends how bad the nosebleeds are affecting your quality of life as to whether you switch now or wait until Wednesday to switch. If you decide to switch now then just explain to your doctor that you couldn't cope with the nosebleeds and hopefully he will be understanding. Hope this helps you to come to a decision. I do take rivaroxaban myself.Steve
Spoke with my doctor yesterday and he immediately agreed to put me back on rivaroxaban. I did in fact start taking my spare in date packet from last Friday. Discussed the COVID vaccines with him, I have no contra indications for having this -just have to wait to be called.
