It’s not unusual for HR to drop after cardio version and during sleep & mine often did go lower and into 40”s but it depends what your resting baseline was. Everyone’s tolerances are very different. My resting rate was usually low 60’s, after Arrythmia sit would vary a lot & once it started to dip into 40”s regularly I sought advice as it then would trigger Arrythmia s. I was fitted with a Pacemaker set to kick in if HR drops lower than 60 so no more problems.

G'day,Well that kinda brings back memories of me nearly 11 years ago now. I do remember the Er doctor saying to me words like ...."I am going to give you some medication IV, you'll feeling like you are dying ... BUT you won't" 😂😂 I think you'll find that in ER their first task is to try to bring HR under control and give the heart a nice n' easy steady beat. Certainly that happened with me. I was moved from ER to Cardiac ward and kept there under observation and a battery of tests, then released home and to the care of my GP. At that point I was prescribed a beta blocker - Bisoprolol.

Probably for the first few years this drug knocked me around quite a bit and it kept my HR around the 50 ish mark, very, very often dropping to mid 40's. However, I chose to persevere with it. I'm still on it and eventually my heart has now stabilised at around 63 to 67 bpm. In a perfect world my body functions at its best with a HR of 72.

What I can't tell you is whether my experience is a one off or whether it is a regular feature of this sort of medical treatment both in ER and after when discharged. Sorry I can't be of more comfort.

I have been on Amiodarone for 4 months as it was the only drug that would stop my flutter( after ablation ) . I was also put on 1.25 mg Bisoprolol ; during the past 3 years my heart rate has always been mid to high 40s with the various drugs but the combination of the above two kept it low 40's so this week I have been told to stop taking the Bisoprolol. I have also had the drug where they say you feel like dying but that from memory was Adenosine.

Yep, that was Adenosine, I had it when I had an MRI Adenosine Stress Test years ago, horrible experience. It was describe as 'feeling of impending doom/feeling of death'

my mom was put on Amioderone for almost a year. I begged her to get off of it and switch to a EP. Told her that the side effects were deadly for her. She finally stopped, when she was convinced that the symptoms she was having were possibly because of the medication. She saw an EP, who called in a thyroid doctor, and one other doc. The EP stated that has she not gotten off that med, within 6 months or less she would have died. It had already done quite a bit of damage to her other organs. Next month will be a year that she stopped taking it, and her liver and thyroid is almost normal now. That crap was deadly for her.

HelloI was diagnosed with occasional AF *about* 5 years ago, at age75.

I was put on 200mg amiodarone and 2.5 mg bisoprolol daily. and have taken it ever since.

My cardiologist 'signed me off' about 3 yrs avo

My AF has (touch wood) stabilised and my BP is normal, but my resting heart rate is around 50 bpm, but this does not seem fo cause any problems, apart from very rare and mild dizziness when I stand up after sitting for a long time.

Hi folks just been reading comments on low bpm rates I was cardioverted 4 times on 11th Sept this year my bpm was in low to mid forties they dropped my Bisoprolol from 10 mg to 2.5mg and stopped Amiodarone to get my bpm up it has went up to mid fifties but only if I maintain an exercise regime but I,m not experiencing any unpleasant symptoms except when requiring some stamina get tired easy but can still do mild walking over 3 or 4 miles still feeling ok just a little input from me .
