For a year now I have been suffering from additional heartbeats which I feel as stronger heartbeat. Most often it happens when I feel the need to take a deeper breath. Also very often when I yawn or bend down. What could be the cause of that?

Extra heartbeats while yawning, bending down or deep breathing
Most likely - vagus nerve with change in posture and internal movement which stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. (FIight, Freeze, Flight) . Try doing some long, deep, slow breathing exercises. Make the out breath longer than the in breath so your general breathing pattern reduces to about 6 breaths per minute. Keeping the autonomic nervous system in balance can help with many symptoms and helps you cope better in everyday life.
Yes I found I was often holding my breath when crouching/bending an it made things more intense.
I will definitely try this breathing technique. Thank you for your help!
I follow CDreamer's suggested breathing exercises and it may also help to loose weight; re the latter my BMI is now 22 (nb on a full fat diet but that's another story) and I find bending down is no longer a problem. To make sure you improve the Vagus Nerve issues you may also have to address other lifestyle matters e.g. more stress reduction - plenty of info on this aspect on this Forum. Good luck.
Yes I get that too. My consultant said to me if it just lasts a few seconds dont worry about it. Hope that helps.
I had that start last year after a terrible virus - eventually got to see a heart specialist and had an echocardiogram and was told it was ectopic beats. They thought mine could been menopause starting but HRT has made it worse and now come off that. Sorry to not be more help - I do hope they can help you.
For me it only happens in these three situations. Once I even had 3 extra beats in row after I bent to tie my shoes. These extra beats doesn't make me dizzy or something. It is just very unpleasant, and stresful.
