For the last 7 days or so I have been getting palpitations (a “heavy” heartbeat) and more ectopics than usual particularly when I am lying on my back. Sometimes there is a heart pain which feels like indigestion. Often, when I stand/sit up from this position I find that there is quite a lot of trapped air which I can belch up. Usually things are ok when walking around. I thought at first that this must be heartburn or reflux, but sometimes it occurs 6 or 7 hours after eating. I read that sometimes the Covid vaccines can produce this sort of symptom (I had a booster 3 weeks ago). Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?
Heartburn/reflux, the vaccine or some... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Heartburn/reflux, the vaccine or something else?
I would go get checked out by your dr ASAP! You’re not allowed to question the vaccine on this forum .. if anyone shares their personal real life experience with any reactions or shares any data regarding any negative reaction to the jab the “vaccine worshipping, adverse reaction denying cult” will report their comment as dangerous and harmful ..then label them anti vax and bash them…
You cannot blame every symptom you ever encounter on vaccines. Of course vaccines have caused some people, some problems but then COVID has caused a whole lot more to a whole lot more people.
I disagree totally with your stance however reasoned discussion has never been ‘not allowed’ on this forum - unless people get abusive or break any of the forum rules such as self promotion, trolling etc.
I have been abused by a person on this forum who swore at me and wished that " I go **** myself with a metal coronavirus model ". He later deleted one of his posts but it was not a nice thing to find in my inbox.
No of course you can’t blame everything on the vax ( which I have never suggested one should do) however heavy heart beating, raises number of ectopics and chest discomfort after this vax I’m suggesting should be evaluated.
Hello, NIki!
In my post "Some facts about Covid-19", in march of 2020. at the very beginning of the Covid drama, using the official data, I (with the name "baraba") have calculated the death rate for this "virus" and it turned out to be only 0,75%. I was so happy that the result was so favorable and asked in my post "Why do they keep telling us that it is the most dangerous virus of all time!? Why are they lying to us? Who intends to profit out of it?"
The reaction from the members was from "God bless you barbara (lol)!" to "Do not spread conspiracy theories here!", but nobody has banned me from writing or any other activity at the forum, which I am thankful for.
As opposed to this, at Fibromyalgia forum, after only one remark "against", I have been banned all activity, including personal messages to members- I can only read, what is still more than nothing, lol...
So, I would have to agree with CD - with all the insane censoring and "fact checking" at the internet regarding the "invisible enemy", our forum is very, very liberal and free to express thoughts.
Regards!
P.
Hi steel.
I’d have to agree as well. Very open here in terms of discussion as opposed to other forums. I was VERY briefly on the bhf forum and they are closing posts down left right and centre at the mere mention of anything vaccine related. Crazy imo as cdreamer said as long as it’s respectful then why should it matter. Some people genuinely want help, the topic of discussion involves their heart, so I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to ask questions about it. Doesn’t automatically mean they are bashing the vaccine, we all know that there are links to negative affects involving the vaccine and always will be too any drug, so why can’t we talk about it? Thousands upon thousands of comments surrounding the negative effects of bisop and flec so why should this be any different?
On a side note steel do you use the bhf forum? I wrote a post on their 6 days ago, with a big introduction and asking about myocarditis and my af and if their could be a link and I got literally 1 reply. Very unhelpful or maybe people didn’t see it? I’ve deleted it now as a waste of time 🙄
Hi, Elli! When I first discovered this AF-forum, and it was in...maybe 2010., I noticed that within the first 12 hours, there were 18 replies for somebody's post. I could not avoid to express my respect and to join the forum. In the meantime, I have followed about 10 different forums, for a shorter or longer period of time, but none of them was so well organized, so well lead and so helpful as "our forum". If a member has to wait months for a reply, than it is not a forum. Our forum, in Serbia, named doktor.rs, has died in front of my eyes, being less and less visited, until it stopped completely. Healing well-forum, from USA, has also almost come to a standstill during the past years.
So, all of us are in favorable condition being here and should do all we can to keep the forum going, what I am sure will be so.
To answer your question, I visit bhf only when I open somebody's profile and see that there might be something interesting in his/her contribution in bhf. Otherwise, I am regularly only here and as a reader of Fibro-forum, of NHS.
As for the jabs and myocarditis, I do not dare to say what I know. Indirectly, are you following football? More and more footballers have huge problems during running in playing field.
Does make you appreciate this forum more. Very quick to respond and plenty of help available 👍
Yeah I’ve seen about footballers having issues but personally I think it’s hard to say whether it’s the vaccine or covid causing them.
I have left other forums for exactly the same reason as you - zero reaction to what was for me quite an urgent question about my late mother's condition. I visit this forum regularly to keep up-to-date with medication and changes in treatment and have always found everyone very helpful.
This is the first forum I’ve ever used or been part of. I knew it was great and has helped me personally ALOT. Not sure where I would currently be if I hadn’t started talking on here. I know so much more about our condition now. The responses are super quick and most people are extremely helpful. The bhf was absolutely useless in comparison to be perfectly honest. 1 response in nearly a week is a waste of time. Makes you appreciate this that much more 👍
Very good point about the comments on Bisoprolol and Flec.
I don’t personally see why people can have strong opinions on one drug but not another? Seems a little crazy to me. Some of the bisop and flec comments could potentially put people off what could be a beneficial drug for them so I really don’t see the difference as long as the comments are respectful, truthful and not just down right scaremongering, which, you’ve got to be honest a small percentage are.
Have to agree about the BHF - great charity but I lasted about a week on their forum for similar reasons. I have found the HU Bone Health forum very helpful and similar to AF forum though.
I have personally not been “censored” on this forum but I have been attacked .. when I shared what happened to 3 loved ones after their second jabs I was called a liar and told I was making it up and called anti vax… The person I was responding to was having some of the same symptoms my loved ones had before their massive heart attacks after their jabs so I was very concerned for this person.. and I have noticed others posting questions and after one response the moderators shut off comments .. so although it’s not happened to me it happening a lot to others who post their experience or anyone questioning anything beyond praise for the vax.
Niki, I would not have to tell you a lot of new information about the whole situation in the world, I believe you know maybe more details than me. For those ones who have not understood until now, it may be a little late. A doctor from my country has said that he every day receives a message from his acquaintances/relatives that somebody they knew has died after the booster. In six days, six persons. Here, in UK, people are brought up in the way that everybody, including Johnson, is honest and do their duty well. I was brought up the same way and, 15 years ago, I bought the apartment, I never got to be mine - it was a fraud. It is a good thing to be a little more suspicious and a little more realistic.
💛.
My understanding was that a thread is closed when there is abuse, when name calling such as being called a liar etc or when the subject veers to far off the core subject of AF.
I’m so sorry for your losses, that will of course colour your responses.
I was certainly not attempting to close you down, just give an alternative perspective.
CDreamer.. just to clarify ..my loved ones didn’t die.. they are still alive just now have heart problems from their heart attacks. ..as far as comments being turned off .. that is how it used to be on here however I have recently seen many comments getting shut off straight away with just one or two comments ( not abusive or inappropriate)
Thank you for the correction and pleased your loved ones survived, still a scary experience of course.
I’ve not noticed any comments being turned off by Admin recently but although I come on daily, I don’t read every thread or comment.
Just to clarify - comments disappear or whole threads frozen or are deleted? That certainly happened a few times when there had been a number of complaints and HU got very fed up having to deal with them. As far as I could see there was no discernible reason that I could determine for some of the deletions but people were very sensitive in the heat of the 1st & 2nd wave of the Panademic. Let us hope that we don’t go through another period like that as the forum went very quiet for some time afterward. I questioned several decisions on posts disappearing but received no explanation from Admin, one of them was my post.
I have noticed that one or two contributors have deleted their own original post or comment on a thread recently but that is the contributor’s choice and sometimes happens, not censorship. I’ve done that myself when I’ve thought twice about something I had written.
Let’s hope that we can continue to express our various experiences, opinions and share our knowledge without upsetting others.
You might be interested in looking up Dr John Cambell’s latest YouTube video, I’m very hesitant to post a link if you haven’t already seen it, on the possible/probable mechanics of how and why the MRNA vaccine may cause heart attacks in some people. I find his video’s very helpful in explaining the papers and and the science. The full paper has not been published and it hasn’t been peer reviewed and evidently the Abstract is already being distributed and posted on social media which seems a little premature to me as it could very well scare many but it does seem to make physiological sense so there are people concerned and investigating.
As I see it there is a push-pull dynamic between individual health and well being and epidemiology of population health to prevent harm to the majority. Hopefully more will become known and alternatives developed to minimise risks to individuals. I also believe that to take the vaccine or not should be a personal choice and I think this is going to be a very volatile political topic all over the world, but shouldn’t be one for this forum when we need to manage our our own health issues and keep calm. Best wishes
G'day,
It sounds to me, although not medically or scientifically qualified to pass verdict or make diagnosis but I would say that you have eaten food which has, in simple terms, aggravated your vagal nerve which in turn has caused our heart to react accordingly. The vagal nerve ( suggest you research it along with a schematic diagram of the VN) - it is essentially an information superhighway between brain , heart and digestive system ( and impacts on other organs too). My personal experience is that food can cause diahorrea, burping, massive and painful bloating and loud unsocial intestinal gurgling. Not all at once, BUT, any one at random, the worst was bloating - and that would be the one that trips me into AF.
If you click on my name and trawl back on older posts you may find stuff I have written, better still click on CDreamer - she has written shedloads of good stuff on this topic.
John
PS
I hope this doesn't upset the 'thought police' Niki
😂😂😂😱
Could well be related to the vagal nerve as I have been told my AF is probably vagal. Today, fewer ectopics but have stomach pain'
It’s very common to have gastro problems and AF. At there worst, mine happened in 2009-2016 and I learned to manage the symptoms without using PPIs which in my opinion only make things worse. I positively don’t believe it has anything to do with the vaccine.
This is a perennial question and I posted a video of Dr Gupta’s describing what happens and your exact symptoms. I think you might find it helpful.
Here is link to the thread which I think you will find useful healthunlocked.com/afassoci...
The video is called The GastroCardiac Syndrone and from York Cardiology on YouTube.
More importantly - how do you deal with it without using meds? If you would like info on how I did then happy to share. In the meantime suggest you avoid eating cereals for breakfast, bread, biscuits and cake or potatoes and sip a mug of hot water after every meal.
John gives some personal experience but there are many causes which can cause these symptoms but the majority are food intolerances, bacterial overgrowth in the wrong place, poor or ‘bad’ gut flora, poor eating plan ie: a lot of sugary foods which encourage ‘bad’ bacteria, eating too quickly or on the go, previous infection such as CDiff etc, etc.
In my case it was previous encounter with Ulcerative Colitis. Hope that helps
Hello Saazeuil. My AF started two weeks after having my booster. I felt like I had heartburn too. Hadn’t had an episode of AF for 8 years prior to this.
Ps I would still have the booster again though. I am all for the vaccine
Hi Sam.
I had this very thing last night funny enough. It was there constantly as opposed to only when laying but definitely worse when laying/sitting 100%.
Not saying it is or isn’t connected to the vaccine, just giving personal experience and letting you know that the bloating feeling is fairly common and can be a trigger for a lot of people’s af. 7 days does seem like a long time to have it though if it’s constant. Probably want to get that checked out.
Good luck 👍
What did your Doc say? A reaction 2 weeks after? My doc said if there were to be a reaction, it would be within 48 hrs, not weeks or months after. I'm guessing food.
....or, like I, you are a Spurs supporter, and it's a natural occurance... typically accompanying by other symptoms like, uncontrollable sobbing, rage, spikes in BP and dispair. 😆
🤣🤣🤣 brilliant! Or a united supporter 😫😫 good things coming our way after 8 painful years hopefully though 🙏🙏🙏
I have long past blamed in on the refs...those in denial know that symptom well...also tried blaming covid, the covid jab, the weather, depleted ozone layer, the price of oil, wind turbines...well, everything, and still...yet still we suck. 😆
You haven’t blamed boris yet though 🤔 might be worth a try 🤣🤣 I’m currently blaming our useless board! Think my excuse has huge potential though. Although ragnick is the best signing they’ve made since days of fergie so I might have to revise that if they FINALLY turn the corner 🙏🙏
Well, I'm a "bloody colonial" so blaming your PM wouldn't work 😆But I thought you lot would have cloned Sir Alex by now...on he can return the prestige 😁
Sorry sorry, back to AFIB topic...my wife suspects my AFIB was caused by footie 😂...*ahem*...as usual... probably right 😜
Well we all originated from over here so worth a try 🤣 got to say your the first Canadian Spurs supporter I’ve come across, so congratulations or maybe commiserations for that 😂👍 there’s only one fergie though mate! Even a clone wouldn’t compare. Hopefully rangnick going to change the attitudes and style at the club for the better 👍
I wouldn’t mind betting your Mrs is probably right in regards to football being a trigger for your af. Especially , as you say, enduring the constant pain of being a Spurs supporter 🤣
My husband is a lifelong Spurs supporter. When he comes back from watching MOTD I can tell by the look on his face what the result was. He has got more and more resigned to their "uneven" performance as the years go by.
I would probably take an anti-inflammatory supplement in your position; I think a Turmuric based one is worth researching.
Caution:- Be very careful with anti-inflammatory supplements if on anticoagulants as many concentrates of the active ingredient, rather than using as food eg: Curcumin in Tumeric can increase the anticoagulation efficacy.
I definitely experienced the same symptoms about a week after the second Moderna shot, and this heart irritability has been going on for several months now, although lately the palpitations are lessening. I’m not an anti-VAXer, but I’m feeling ambivalent about getting the booster just yet.
Interesting reply. I've just been into town to an art gallery with some friends and had a relaxing time. On walking home, however, my heart beat was much faster than usual and I started to get lots of ectopics. This is an unusual pattern for me. Two hours later I'm still getting the ectopics and am trying to head off AF (which I haven't had for 7 months). At first I thought this was stress/indigestion but now I'm convinced it's got something to do with the vaccine. I spoke to a GP yesterday and they said it was impossible to tell. I read that boosters, particularly the MRNA vaccines, are more likely to cause palpitations. Please let me know if you get any additional medical information on this and I will do likewise. I can imagine it's not pleasant that you have had it for months and I hope you feel better soon.
Will do. The world is still learning about these vaccines.
I woke up a few hours ago in AF and spoke to an out-of-hours nurse who has AF herself. She said that she had AF some days after her second jab (Pfizer) and that there had been reports of this sort of thing. There hasn’t been any research on the issue, so it cannot be said definitely that the vaccines can cause AF. She is apprehensive about a third booster jab, but is going to go through with it.
