CBD oils and AF - anyone found these cannabidiols to be a trigger for AF? I had a few months using them at night following an untoward outcome from an op leaving me with severe nerve pain. I had abandoned them weeks / months before a run of AF after a 4 year gap but wondered if there was a link. I suspect the trigger was my large glass of red wine every evening but ...

CBD oils and AF
Hiya Maddie.
I can only speak from my personal experience. I've taked CBD oil and not had any problem at all. The one without THC is harmless IMO and can help certain conditions. However we are all different - what works for me might not work for you.
Now having a 'spliff' ! As a young man (some might say many moons ago!) I used to 'indulge' as a student. I wouldn't go near the stuff now as a fellow afibber. It can increase your heart rate and is not a good idea - that's just my take and others may disagree.
I think you'll find most illegal drugs will take you back in to afib - the whole lot are best avoided with a heart problem.
It seems a shame to blame your wine if you enjoy a glass - however there might be your answer. It's a shame to give up everything we enjoy - I know this. Moderation is key here

Hi I have Afib and cbd oil can make your heart race also it acts like an anticoagulant and I’m on apixaban anticoagulant so I can’t take it so it’s possible that it could give you a problem if you have Afib
For sleep problems I'll occasionally use CBD with a small amount of THC formulated for that purpose and purchased from legal dispensaries in California. It relaxes me, gets me to sleep and doesn't seem to affect my afib one way or the other.
Hi Maddiegran
I can agree with paulbounce. I used the CBD oils, they do not contain THC, after I developed severe sacroiliac joint pain. It was the only thing that helped my pain and I didn’t get mellow or high!
No Afib at all whilst using CBD
BUT we are all different. I had a friend try it for knee pain and it interacted badly with her anti depressants.
