Hello all you kind people, I really need some guidance please. It is now 4 weeks since my ablation, I have experienced most of what the factsheet explained can occur following an ablation. However the past couple of days I have had quite long spells of feeling very light headed not quite at the fainting stage, but not far off. It happens after I have had my breakfast and when I go for a short stroll round my sisters garden ( staying with family for a further few days before going back home- normally live alone but have been staying with family following ablation). These symptoms are new, when I check my HR it is remaining regular but with an occasional short pause between beats, BP normal for me (110/70 -130/80). I am taking Flec 50mgs x2 daily along with Edoxaban, and Lansoprazole, have stopped taking the CCB (Diltizeam) as this made my BP drop very low and made me feel awful. My six week review with the cardiologist is due in a couple of weeks. Could the Flec be causing this ? or is it a normal part of the recovery process, any help and guidance I would be most grateful for, I have tried contacting my Afib nurse but no luck as yet, I think she may be on holiday. Trying very hard not to get anxious about it as I know this will only make things worse ( need to keep positive as will be on my own at home soon so do not want to get too worked up about it all). Thankyou you all for reading this, sorry it is such a long post.
Take care everyone, and keep well and safe.
Shirley

It may be the hot weather- I've noticed similar feeling and some ectopics ( which may be what your sensation of missed beat is)which I don't normally get!
I wonder if you\ve checked with doctor re stopping the CCB as think they are prescribed with Flecanide for reason- worth checking- perhaps there is an alternative
Ah Shirley, no walking right after eating! I think that's what will be making you feel odd at the moment especially with the heat. I've certainly had that happen to me, but usually after lunch.
I've just walked up the hill from the town to my home and because the barometer says the pressure is very high today at 80 I'm told, it's totally worn me out. I'd normally stop to catch my breath once or twice, but today it was about 9 times.
Low BP can certainly make you feel that way too, wonder if yours drops immediately after eating?
Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
If it continues, especially once this heatwave goes, then I'd certainly have a word with your GP. Hope the AF nurse calls you back.
I do wish I could get back to my walking. Mind you I'm not sure how I would manage will the hills you have to navigate Jean. No wonder you had to stop a few times yesterday!
Fingers crossed, once I have had my review with the Cardiologist he will be able to explain how my recovery is progressing and perhaps my medication may need some adjustments, especially the CCB.
I will try the Afib nurse again when I am back home at the weekend.
Thankyou again Jean for your advice , keep well and cool.😅
As you say I suppose I need to expect that I will have wobble days ( as I call them), for sometime yet. As you all kind folk have said, it is a long journey through recovery.
