Hi Lemon, I have been asked to your query re Apixapam.
I take twice a day and have no apparent problems other than when I do something daft in the garden a create a bruise which usually becomes very colourful.
On cutting myself I don’t get huge blood flow and soon stops.
I do not want to risk a stroke so happy to take and have no other obvious side effects.
I have been taking it for almost a year.

I have pretty much the same experience with apixaban (5mg twice daily). I bruised easily while on warfarin for many years and seem to do so even more on apixaban. The slightest touch causes bruises -- often I don't even know what caused bruises, esp on hands and arms; they're mosstly totally painless..
A negative for me using apixaban (5mg twice daily) is that it has accelerated my male pattern hair loss - of this I have no doubt. No one seems to have any good information in this regard, but I'm convinced it's the apixaban that has supercharged my hair loss. This may be a side effect for only a small percentage of patients - I really don't know, as there are no published stats out there. Similarly I don't know whether this unfortunate side effect exists (for some patients) with all the other NOAC drugs that are available (i.e. dabigatran, rivaroxaban and edoxaban). Another potential issue with taking NOACs is slow wound healing.
