I drank some water in bed without sitting up properly. A few minutes later I felt as though my heart had been poked and that started AF. I sat up and expelled wind but the poking has continued till this morning as has the AF and slight wind. It’s the poke I’m a bit concerned about. Normally a few burps gets rid of pain but this is a bit different. Anyone felt the same?

No, I haven’t experienced that but I have felt as if I may have pulled a muscle when doing the same thing- twisting round in the bed for a drink of water and almost choking - It went after a few days . I would check with the doctor just to be on the safe side. I do hope it resolves itself soon. It is very anxiety provoking when these sort of things happen. Best wishes

Sounds like ecopics have been triggered. I sometimes get a similar prob from swallowing in a way that interrupts the breathing. It should settle soon.

Thanks. It’s better today, Dr told me to take Gaviscon which seems to have done the trick. I was thinking ‘heart attack...’!

Well, if you don't know....It's the air/wind that gets trapped when swallowing badly. It triggers the bad beat. It can be very uncomfortable. Be aware that it might happen again.
