Anyone heard of apixiban causing neuralgia? I have never suffered from neuralgia, but it started a week after starting apixiban. My doctor says it is unlikely but I am not so sure. Manifests as sensitive, burning scalp and headache.
Thanks

Not aware, have been taking Apixaban for 4 years with no problems.
Hi Lindaj
I have been on Apixaban for 2years now. Every now and then I get the same. It’s as if you have banged your head? Over time I have also been on the receiving end of some severe headaches, of which paracetamol seems to help? It appears to be subsiding over time though?

You really need to get this checked out. These can be symptoms of giant cell arteritis which can be really serious and lead to loss of vision . If you have any visual disturbances at all seek medical attention immediately. This is a condition that affects women more than men and is often missed by doctors.
Thank you. Doctor thinks it is occipital neuralgia
