Tambacor (Flecanide)

After my first cardioversion I was prescribed Flecanide for the week previous to my procedure and have to continue with these pills (150mg twice a day). I also take a magnesium supplement.

Like with all the AFib meds I suffer from some of the side effects, namely the dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, occasional breathlesness etc. I have only been on them for two weeks so far.

How long do people find it takes to get used to them? And will I have to be on them for life?

My next appointment with the consultant is not for 6 weeks (sooner if my ticker reverts) and I’m curious to know other people’s experiences with this drug.

That's quite a hefty daily dose you're taking. Most take 2 x 100mg and a few of us (me included ) 2 x 50mg. You won't necessary need to be on them for life. Some people just take them when they have an attack of AF.
