Hi all, still progressing 4 months, after my cryo ablation. I still have small runs of an irregular pulse randomly and a speeding up and slowing down of my HR anywhere between 45 to 90 BPM which sometimes leaves me lightheaded when it's low. I've not had a sustained AF episode for a couple of weeks now other than a 2 hour wobble when gardening last week. I got a call from cardiology yesterday telling me they had sent an event recorder in the post for me to attach to my chest for 7 days. I have to keep a diary of all my daily activities and at the end of that period I have up post it to the manufacturer who will send a report to my EP. Has anybody else used such a device and what sort of feedback did they get from the results. I'm curious as to what information can be gleened that will affect my future treatment. Stay safe everyone π

Event recorders will track your heart rate and rhythm over time and your diary should be able to pin point any events which you feel as well as any un-felt occasions when something odd might have happened.
It is often found that what a patient thinks is AF may be merely benign ectopic activity yet may also note AF events the patient is un-aware of.
The usefullness of such a record can not be underestimated as treatment can be adjusted (or not ) according to the findings.
I've had one of these devices fitted on two separate occasions.
Both times they recorded ectopics and bigeminy.
The second time I wore one I went into AF 10 minutes after dropping it off at the hospital π€£

That's a bummer, there's lots to be learnt from the device it seems. Thanks for that and hope you're well π
