Hi,

Just started Flecainide and noticed a substantial leap in blood pressure.

Anyone else on this medication experienced the same?

No problem with Flecanide whether on 2x100 daily or used as a pill- in- the pocket.

Ive never had any change in blood pressure when taking Flecainide. Are you feeling anxious about taking it? Our bodies listen to our emotions and fears. If it remains elevated after a few days, you need to consult your doctor.

Hi Hanibal, no appreciable difference for me in BP over 6 years on 200mgs Flec per day. Your mind/body is likely to be hypersensitive at present with the diagnosis and the introduction of a new drug. In my case it took 4 months plus the introduction of Magnesium & CoQ10 supplements before I started feeling a bit better generally.

I've been on Flecainide 50 mg twice a day for over 10 yrs without any side effects. Also on Eliquis. No problems! BP normal.

I'm new the Flecenaide - almost two weeks in - after 3 months on Bisoprolol and it's not impacted on my BP. I do have much more heart rate variability though, which is weird after being on BBs which simply slow everything down. I'm also on Tildiem which is a BP med, so maybe that's why I notice little difference. As others say, monitor your BP over time and then report to your GP. Mine has said - not bothered by individual spiking. And yes, it's absolutely true that if you get wound up (speaking from experience here!) your BP will rise. If I get a super high reading that surprises me I'll sit quietly for a few minutes, breathe and then take it again. It's usually lower. Our practice nurse also recommend going for a short walk, which also works. Try not to worry - last thing your BP needs.

I'm sure you're right.

Doc said to review with him in two weeks as I'm new to the med and to keep an eye on HR and BP.
