Thanks, a huge comfort to AFers in London to know he is involved in NHS Nightingale re the Virus

Thank you very much that’s very reassuring. I’m waiting for my third ablation at St Barts and was feeling quite pessimistic about the outcome. That’s especially as I’m obviously having to wait longer for it and in February Dr Sporton told me the sooner the better. So good to see outcomes have improved so much since my last ablation.

That's good to know, of course that is Prof Shilling only, I had a Tamponade at that hospital last year with another consultant so its not a hospital statistic.

Hi I spent 3 days in ICU at the London Bridge Hospital until the bleeding stopped,

I then spent 3 months getting well and ready to have the procedure again, as it happened I decided to not go back to London Bridge and try to get a better understanding of the problem, and although I was booked in for another Ablation at L.B I went to Oxford to a Kim Rajappan who diagnosed me with Flutter and I underwent a Flutter Ablation in early February which was successful, and so far have no further problems.

Good to hear it resolved but pretty frightening experience...we all need to be aware of the risks that exist

Those are great stats. More EPs should publish those. I think his figures are distorted a bit as he does more complex cases though.

I'm not included in those stats as he did me in 2010. It took 5 hours then so an average of an hour now is great. I must have been fried with X-rays then (10+ mins) - he's down to about 20 secs now. I'm still in NSR 99% of the time though!

Good to hear, the latest stats show less good results for PAF down to complexity - the whole website is a great resource for people with afib
