I suspect I’ll be kissing goodbye to my ablation due mid year too!
I put a post up a week ago when my GP said this was going to happen, so it's not a shock to the medical community (pun intended).
Sorry to hear that.
I've been waiting for a date for my cardioversion and saw a heart failure nurse today who said he didn't know the current situation.
My employer has offered to pay for me to go private. Should I stay or go???
I am the same waiting for cardioversion as af has given me heart failure
I have no idea how long I will have to wait but I don’t want to go near any hospitals or medical facilities at the moment
AF begets AF. The longer you are in AF, the more AF you will get. The longer you are in persistent AF, the more ablations you will need. My first ablation was at six months persistent, and I have had to have three ablations. Had I gone beyond six months persistent, I would never have been able to return to sinus because I was one of the most complicated cases at the six month persistent stage. You are lucky your employer is willing to py for the procedure.
I managed to get my cardioversion done last Friday which was successful. I had another appointment yesterday at the same hospital, QE Birmingham for another issue ( sleep clinic for apnoea) that was cancelled. So lucky to get it done.
