There appears to be no group covering this issue, was wondering why? This forum has been great for all things AF, but now I find myself in need of the same kind advice, reassurance, help, confidence and support/daily banter that I have found here but on this new condition for me. Does anyone have any helpful links?

Mitral Valve Prolapse/Regurgitation
I think most people have a measure of mitral regurgitation to be honest. It is the severity that may be a problem and often one cause of AF so plenty here will know about it. Try British Heart Foundation website.
I've got a leaky mitral valve and my cardiologist said many people my age have the same and don't know it. As Bob says it is the severity that counts.
I have had mitral valve prolapse since I was young, however the last few years it hasn’t shown up on my echocardiogram. I believe that is because it sometimes prolapses and sometimes doesn’t. I have a leaky mitral valve and leaky tricuspid valve. I wonder if this has played any part in the initiation of A-fib?
Maybe it kickstarts the AF, it seems likley. How do you find execise with the valve issues, I had not realy considered it until diagnosis and now realise some of my totally fatigued days may have been down to the condition.
I just looked at my last ECHO, so I have mitral, tricuspid and pulmonary valve regurgitation but all are classified as mild. Both atria are mildly enlarged and I have an atrial septal aneurysm bowing to the right. I never knew I had pulmonary valve regurgitation. But my mitral valve regurgitation used to be moderate. I think it all depends on the day they are doing the ECHO. Since diagnosis, I just do brisk walking (used to run when I was younger), some bike riding (although I cut way down on this because of being on the Eliquis and fear of falling), yoga, and upper and lower body exercises with thera-bands. I seem to do okay with exercise but can rarely get my heart rate up above 100 to 110 due to the beta blocker in my Sotalol. Hope this is helpful.
Perhaps fatigue is due to over-exerting or the beta blocker? My niece who works in the medical field said that if a person is on a beta blocker, then check your pulse just before the start of exercise and aim to raise it by 30 beats per minute while exercising, because the usual method of determining target heart rate doesn't work.
dmjtanner sorry for my tardy reply, been busy harvesting willow cuttings as you do. That might be a cause of my fatigue right there Right now I'm not on any meds for the valve issue a grade 2 prolapse with some torn cordage causing some regurgitation. Having just got ablated for the AFib it is now a question of where to from here. Should be off all meds in the coming weeks if the procedure has proven successful and I have a scheduled meeting with my cardiologist when I hope to get a stress test to find just how broken the pump is. My exercise since the ablation has been very cautious and will stay so until I meet my cardiologist I'm allowing for the slight rise in my resting HR and not going over 110/115 BPM at best, so far so good.
Thanks for the reply much appreciated, take care out there.
