I had an ablation 2 years ago for atrial flutters. I'm off all meds at this time and Monday 2 a.m. I got up to go to the bathroom and had the feeling of passing out. This happened again at 6 a.m. I quickly went back to bed! My cardio dr. doesn't know why this is happening and I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems like this. I'm at a loss!

I guess the best thing to do is to see your doctor and get a proper check over. Without an ECG and blood pressure check it will be difficult for a doctor to come up with a reason, so us poor mortals have little chance of knowing but I’m sure others will come up with suggestions......
I had this happen once when my BP and pulse was going too low because of the medication I was taking. So I would suggest you get yours checked. Do you have your own monitor? If so perhaps check it before getting up a few times just to see what your waking from sleep rates are.
Also it's a little harder for our hearts to pump blood around our bodies when we stand up and I'm afraid as we grow older the heart is not so quick to respond to us going from lying still in bed and then standing up and moving around. The tip is to sit on the side of the bed for a little while before getting up and then move slowly. It's annoying isn't it and makes us feel old to have to do this, but I'm afraid it's necessary.
My dad had a stroke when he got out of bed one night and he lay on the bathroom floor for 3 days before my brother broke into the house and found him, he died in hospital from this about 6 weeks later. With this in mind I always make sure I get out of bed slowly and no bending as soon as you get up either. A friend bent down and had a stroke when she knocked the tea her husband had put on her bedside table over and she bent to mop it up with tissues She is now confined to a wheelchair and was only around age 60.

I have an increase of this lately, for no apparent reason. My meds have not changed . One thing I must change is the amount of fluids I take in. I e given up alcohol for the time being but realised I dont hydrate myself enough . Not saying g this will help but dehydration can cause these episodes.
I was having really low heart rate anf the doctor he ordered an implant loop recorder. Then got a pacemaker about a year ago I started getting dizzy spells and past out a few times after the pacemaker was put in. Dizzy spells got worse and my dr had no idea. He increased the metropolol and that was the worst thing to do I was getting worse dizzy spells. I went to the see a different doctor at a walk in emergency clinic and they decided it was the metropolol that was causing the dizzy spells I stopped taking it and this is feels kind of weird away at least I wasn’t passing out and then saw a different doctor and she put me on carvedilol which helped by a fib for a bit but now I’m getting dizzy spells constantly not passing out but have a good visit spells where I think I will pass out or feel like will. So the carvedilol doesn’t work on his own so I’m taking a half a tablet of the metoprolol in the afternoon and that helps with the afib. But still getting pretty bad dizzy spells a few times a day
