Well am just back from seeing my gp and she says the thing she really needs to know is my pulse rate when I'm having this 'fainting' feeling . My heart does it's own merry dance at the same time and me, well you could probably wring me out I'm sweating so much!!
She sent an email re an appointment with cardiologist and did check and said I was 'on the list' to be seen by an electrophysiologist. Wondering how long that may take.
Ah well, I'll keep numbers for her her the next couple of weeks as and when this occurs. Thanks for all your comments guys, it's nice knowing you lot are there with experiences of your own and that you just 'get it' when I am concerned about this Bloomin' AF.
Thanks again,
stay safe everyone

I'm in Scotland and have had a tape monitor on numerous occasions to no avail. In fact the minute I take it off I go almost instantly into AF episodes! Typical. There one I can do called fribracheck which I got a free few days with and it was great, using my phone and it sent me a copy which I can print. It cost about £60 for the year and I think I'll go try this out. Thanks for your input and stay well!
You would be far better off with a Kardia device. The Fibracheck, I think, uses the phones camera and flashlight to measure 'pulse'? If that is so, then results while in AF will be inaccurate as what it is actually measuring is the change in skin colour during the pulse of higher blood pressure. Yes, this reveals your pulse, but in AF not all beats of the heart produce the needed amount of change in pressure, due to the beat coming out of time.
The Kardia measure the electrical impulses from your heart (down both arms) and reveals all the beats and their timings.
Must say, I'm a new patron of the Kardia family and am quite amazed by this bit of kit. I have the 6L.
Yesterday I had the 111 emergency ambulance team call and they went through all the hoops which included an ECG. On leaving the team leader nodded to my Kardia print out and commented ..." y'know that is so accurate and is almost spot on with our ECG printout" that they left with me.
If you are considering the Kardia, then the important things to be aware of are: Your smart phone (or tablet) must be either iOS or Android. All modern Android phones should work with the Kardia 6L, but not all will with the original Kardia (single lead). The reason for this is that the older one uses an audio signal to communicate with the phone, and some modern high end phones will filter this out. The 6L version uses Bluetooth.
You will be offered a subscription service to both store and analyse your ECG tracings, but it is NOT required. The App will store lots of recordings, and you can easily 'email' them to any cloud storage solution you already use. They can easily be printed or sent by email to a medical service such as your EP or cardiologist.
Yeah, momist raises a good point. The phone I use (Motorola Moto Z2 Play) is not on the Kardia approved list but it works fine. If you want to know the technicalities of my phone ( as a guide) go to gsmArena web site and type in the search box my phone.
Good morning, I have had two ablations and both were only successful for a couple of days, I then passed out on a golf course. My consultant advised a pacemaker with AV node ablation to stop any further fainting episodes. After having the pacemaker set I passed out again but came round very quickly,
not like the first time when i knew it was coming as i was very unsteady and sweating a lot.
So after all checks on my heart and pacemaker, all working fine, then it must have been caused by something else, under investigation.
Tablets can cause some problems in particular I found Bisoprolol made me very tired
Hi,I've just taken my morning cocktail of meds and withing about 40mins......fluttering and all out of sync heartbeats. I do wonder if the Flecainide I'm on is now instigating episodes rather than calming them. I also take Bisoprolol in the early evening meds mix!
Your in the same position as me exactly. How long is a piece of string comes to mind. I'm on a list for cv but last week got a letter saying I'm due to have a phone call in Oct instead due to covid cases. Not sure how they're gonna shock me over the phone lol.
