Can anyone help?

I have been going in and out of AF since yesterday afternoon. I have never experienced this before and have always had an attack, then gone back into sinus rythmn and stayed ok until the next time. Is this normal? I do not have any other symptoms except the usual burping and flatulence. Appreciate your views. Many thanks.

Sounds as if your vagus nerve is involved. Avoid big meals for now to try and settle it down. Gentle walking snd deep breaths if you feel up to it.

Thanks. I thought it was probably coming from the vagus nerve as I have a hiatus hernia as well. I think I have been in panic mode today. One of those days when everything goes wrong that could and the devil is sitting on my shoulder. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I get AF it never ceases to be scary, so thanks for your reply. I never really know how long to let an attack go on for? What is the info on that? Thank you so much for your time. Keep well.

I think you would only time things if your heart rate is very high or if you are feeling ill- dizzy- chest pain etc. When mine is150 plus I feel ill but120 is quite manageable for me but we’re all different. I wouldn’t suffer a high rate fir too long

Yes I am the same Rosy. 150 is too high for me. I have always had a high HR even when younger it was 120 but today mine went down very low for a while which was unusual and scary, but it corrected itself in minutes. Thanks for your help and hope you are better now (been reading your posts). It was an awful time for you with your knees.

Take care and see you around again.

Due to the heat (in the UK), maybe you should try two pints more of water each day and possibly more salt on your food.

Thanks for your advice. I will try extra liquid, and I know extra salt is good for low blood pressure - which I have most of the time. We all need and enjoy the sunshine but it does affect us A Fibbers in various ways. Thanks for your help. This forum has seen me through many dark days with this horror. Keep well and God Bless.
