I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the lovely forum members who replied to my post when i was feeling so low after being told I need a pacemaker. So many replied with experiences and knowledge. Your warmth, wisdom and generosity have been so helpful. It means I start the New Year with a fresh plan and courage renewed. This shows what a force for good an online forum can be.

So THANK YOU!

P.S. I Have been advised to change my user name to something more anonymous.

My friend with af had a pacemaker fitted and her quality of life is so much improved in fact I have a job to keep up with her and she is 81 years of age.

I have a Pacemaker and it really does improve your quality of life, my heart rate was dipping into the low 50’s and I felt like I might faint. Had shortness of breath too. Diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome. Also have the arrhythmia that nags at me. I feel like that darn vagus nerve should take a big part of the blame. They’re working on treatments to calm this nerve and I’m hopeful for that but until that time, I’ll have to be patient and wait for it to come about. Wishing you a Healthy New 2020 and a good reason to celebrate your decision to get your pacemaker, should you choose to do so. Sarah from San Diego
