Any infection causes inflammation which in turn can trigger AF. You will see a lot of posts recently saying they have had AF episodes recently since having cold, cough etc.

Thank you, yes flu and chest infections I could see, but slight ear infection wasn’t expecting it. It’s such a maverick thing A.F, ..a big sneeze in some people can initiate it

Even a slight ear infection could cause it especially as it so very near the 3rd part of the autonomic nervous system - a nerve which runs through the face and jaw.

For us optimists - last year I had a serious case of pneumonia - lasted six weeks, and never once did I experience an Afib attack. Just sayin'....

Just shows sharps a tricky animal this A,.F is, and how

it affects us all differently, I’m so pleased you didn’t suffer that extra burden and progressing well since.

Any infection or virus can easily trigger AF which I definitely have found to be the case and I'm sure lots of others on this forum can say the same. I know I was in A & E and then a ward last Boxing Day because my daughter in law's father kindly shared his flu and within a day the beast reared its head. Labyrinthitis is not a pleasant thing to have and so it could easily upset the AF. Hope better soon

Thank you Tapanac, labyrinthitis is the oddest thing, I had to hold on to my chair, I felt as though I was on the Big Dipper, I am in permanent A.F. so nothing changed for me.

I really hope your Christmas is a happy and healthy one.best wishes

Yes I remember as I had it many years ago and trying to get out of bed was horrendous. Lifting head or looking up. Worse than being drunk, not that I remember what it's like to be a little tiddley since having AF which is playing up somewhat as Christmas looming and everything to do, husband not well with his back and my son's wife walked out not wanting to be a mum or wife.....stress!!!!! Best wishes to you and yours

Oh boy, what a Christmas ride for you, really to have that much stress is dreadful, but being a woman no doubt you will sail through no matter what, I truly wish you the very best, and a good wind beneath your sails. X Dee
