A friend told her friend who is a cardiologist, that I was awaiting an ablation and he was surprised that I was having ablation for A.F.

He was under the impression that it was only offered for Brady and tachycardia problems. Let's hope this cardiologist is one on his own! X

That is why. we see EPs for AF!

Many cardiologists are unclear and/or un informed regard ing ablations! I've had many surprising comments by friends and médical professionals !

I too hope he's on his own! Slightly worrying, that...

Oh dear! Had a cardio prescribe beta-blockers for me once. 30 minutes later, the EP came in and said he wouldn't take them if he were me!

There is a definite probability that many AF patients are not receiving the correct care or appropriate referrals.

Are you sure that it wasn't a proctologist? :-)

Makes you wonder. Saw my GP (who is a very attentive and switched on man) yesterday and told him I didn't feel happy on the 5mg Bisop and the taking away of the diuretic I was on since seeing cardiologist. I had felt better when I reduced Bisop to 2.5mg to reduce its effects. GP suggested an experiment by reducing Bisop to 2.5mg every other day and going back on diuretic 2.5 every other day. They will not criticise their own profession but I felt that my GP thought I was being sent down the wrong road. I shall be interested to see how this goes.
