Kardia with Pacemaker

I had a CRT-p implanted on 31/10 and went back for a check up yesterday. I said that since the op, my Kardia has recorded readings of Normal, Unclassified and Possible AF quite randomly so I was wondering if I had reverted to paroxysmal AF from permanent. However, the Cardiologist said the Kardia does not pick up all the rhythms/waves or whatever when there is a pacemaker and that I was still in Permanent AF. Can anyone explain this to me, please? I don’t check all that often just sometimes to get a snapshot of what is going g on as, luckily, I don’t really feel the AF.

OK throw away your kardia now is it will not tell you anything as the cardiologist has explained. . The pacemaker controls the vetricle and thus your "pulse" as this is the pumping beat of teh heart. Whatever else is going on is irrelevant although you may well be able to feel the atrium fibrillating .

Hi Bob. My husband has a pacemaker and I have wondered if my apple 4 or Kardia will show when I am in afib after I have my PM installed. After reading your note today, I had my husband wear my apple 4 watch and check the ECG app....it showed NSR...soI think it works, no?

Like I say all it will show is the PM generated ventricular rate.
