I use flecainide as pill in the pocket, but sometimes I do not have water to swallow it. If I chew my Flecainide pill instead of swallowing it probably the plasma concentration rises too quickly, because sublingual absortion is very efficient. Does anybody have experience with this aspect, or is it an idle question?

Chewing Flecainide pill

It needs to be swallowed whole so it disolves over time. Sorry non starter.
I asked the same question to the hospital pharmacist after my Ablation. She told me it made no difference.
Personally it tastes so bad I never chew.
If you use Flecainide as PIP, surely you want it to act quickly? Therefore you will be glad it can be crunched? I have problems swallowing pills, so I am glad for pills that can be crunched in the mouth and dissolved in a little saliva before swallowing. That way they do not get stuck somewhere and dissolve in the oesophagus.
I find it starts dissolving as soon as it's on my tongue so a
putting in mouth and swallowing has to be one speedy action
On the odd occasions when I had no liquid to hand when I had to take Flecainide I swallowed them in saliva. Not only did they taste awful but they also caused my mouth to go numb
