Anyone ever tried circumin/tumeric for heart-related problems or just other health issues in general?
I only ask as I started taking this for inflammation. I have a chronic breathing problem right now that appears to only be getting worse and nobody can explain what's causing it. Somebody on another forum suggest trying this for inflammation, in case that's my problem and I've been taking them for 4 days.
But right now my heart is going mad. Not afib but just random ectopics, palpitations, and some of them are actually taking my breath away.
I'm not saying it's the supplement, but just wondered if anybody else had had any experience with circumin?
Cheers

I take Tumeric for joint health. It has definitely helped my knees and I haven’t had any adverse affects on my heart. I’ve worked with a pharmacist who is also a medical herbalist to find great products that won’t interact with my medication or condition.
Thanks Kaz747, I expect it probably isn't the supplement but just wanted to see other people's experiences.
I'm going to lay off it for a couple of days and see if there's any improvement.
I also started recently taking a probiotic supplement but Googling both leads to me to numerous pages about how both are meant to be good for heart health, no bad!
Sometimes probiotics can lead to gut disturbances which might explain the ectopics. Not all people tolerate them well. I would finger that rather than the curcumin. Try stopping them both then if things settle reintroducing one at a time.
I will try that, definitely. I've stupidly taken it today, but I've stopped the curcumin for a couple of days. I'll stop the probiotics for a few days and take the curcumin instead. I've actually found little relief from the bloating and gas (in fact, it feels a bit worse these last 2 days) from the probiotic so you may have something there too!
I'd suggest taking some Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) for a potential fix for stomach issues - Braggs is my preferred brand. A cople of tablespoons in an 8-10 oz tumbler. Sometimes with ice is nice on a hot day.
I 'm with Kaz747 on the Turmeric. I take 3 daily - also helps to thin the blood. I'm one of those all natural types and do not take any prescribed thinners. I've specced out what I do for thinning elswhere in the forum here.
I would stop both for a week to give your system a chance. I have had mixed results with probiotics. Sometimes they seem to inrease gas. I do take curcumin but every other day.
Please research exercise. I imagine not an attractive proposition right now. Well, you don't need to run the Marathon, yet (-;
Really, please don't be put off, you may be able to swim, use a machine, etc. Be gentle on your knees but use them. In my opinion, the benefits of excising are hugely underrated.
Sadly, I have recently been diagnosed with chronic fatigue so while I try to exercise as much as possible, my ability to exercise has reduced from 150k steps a week to barely 25k a week. At the absolute max. I'm trying tho.
Good on you Dave, keep stepping on. You are doing much more than nothing

I took cur cumin( tumeric) supplements at the advice of my intragrative doc but found it annoyed my stomach. I didnt have any heart issue. Just check with your pharmacist to see if it interacts with any of your prescriptions.
That's good. Check that it's ok with your BP medication and then go for it. I'm reading everywhere how healing turmeric, cinnamon and also ginger can be.
I swear on turmeric!! I was on eloquis pre ablation that I eventually cancelled to work on health before. I would take 2 turmeric pills and have double nostril nose bleeds for hours each time! Not to mention I'm very active so the pain relief was also a big bonus. I currently use it along with fish oil as my natural "blood thinner". I have tried dozens of brands locally and on amazon. Infowarslife.com brand I have found to be the best hands down!!! It's called bodease.
I'm on Elliquis but also take COQ10 and my cardiologist didn't have a problem with my doing so. I did try turmeric prior to Afib and the blood thinner and had nose bleeds, so it's off the table!
You might try a cup of Turmeric Tea. It's got a nice taste and it will give you a light dose of Turmeric. I kind of like it. I bought it because, like you, I heard that it helps the heart. It supposedly helps other physical issues, too. Supposed to be good stuff. But, I'd start with the tea.
