Dropping in and out of af. Is it more likely to be successful if af not progressed to permanent? How many ablations can one have? Af reshapes the heart. I can live with how I am now sort of. Referred back to EP by cardiologist. Appointment in oct.
Advice please

If you are considering a second ablation (and if your symptoms affect your QOL) I would say sooner rather than later. As far as numbers go, as many as it takes if your EP is prepared to keep trying.
I am scheduled for second ablation on October 18. First ablation was 2/22/2018 and I was free from afib for 14 months. Afib started again 5/2019 and I am going for second ablation because I can't stand the uncertainty of when an attack will happen. I cancelled a hiking trip out West this fall. Afib affects my quality of life.
It’s preferable to have it earlier rather than later; the more remodelling of the heart the harder it is to address. If you’ve had one already and it worked for 14 months, if you are lucky a second ablation might resolve he problem completely.
