Kardia
1 lead or 6? Sorry not sure what you mean
When I e gone to buy it gives me a choice between one for £99 or the 6l for £149
Buy the 6L it provides far more detailed information to a doctor or cardiologist to read.
I have the 6 and it gives much more info and it is not that much more, in my opinion it is money well spent
I have the single lead which is very unreliable if one has regular ectopic beats. Often shows AF but following 14 day heart monitor via consultant he confirmed no AF and took me off Edoxaban. I rarely use mine now.
Hi. I very recently purchased the one lead AliveCor Kardia for mobile phones, and within just two weeks it started to malfunction. I made a video of what was happening, sent it to PMS Instruments, and thus far they have not offered either a replacement or a refund and have implied that my phone was not compatible with the unit, even though it worked fine at first. In other words, they appear to be blaming me and again, not offering a replacement or refund. So try to buy this from another company.
I have the mobile phone one, got it via amazon, if it fails, I’ll send it back. My cardiologist seemed pleased I’d got one and asked if he’d recommended it, which was a no as I’d seen it on here.
You may well have already decided. I suppose that the answer lies in how big your budget is, and what you want the Kardia for?
I have no experience of the new 6 lead device, but have owned the single one for over two years now. I would not be without it, as it is so reassuring to be able to confirm immediately what is going on with my PAF. I often have strange arrhythmic feelings in my chest that are actually digestive, not AF, and the Kardia can instantly confirm that for me.
On the few occasions that I have offered my readings to my EP, he has simply glanced at them and said "Yes, that's AF" and given me them back. He tells me to keep the records, and trusts me to just give him the dates and times that the Kardia has confirmed I am in AF. I don't know if he would pay any more attention to a six lead readout?
However, the new one I understand uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone/tablet instead of the rather ropey and unreliable ultrasound via the microphone system. I would expect this to be very much superior, and may well be worth the extra £50 on it's own.
