Got my new Kardia 6L today

Hey guys,

Got my Kardia in the post today. Pretty much the same as the old version, but you can decide at each reading whether you want to do a 1 lead or 6 lead reading.

Attached a pic for anyone that’s interested.

I will be interested to bear your ongoing experience. Will the 6 lead give a lot more useful info for your EP/cardiologist? I see it only gives you the same results as the 1 lead.

Me too!!!

Yes, that’s right. The 6 lead gives an EP a far better understanding of what is going on. That’s why I opted to get one to be honest. I’m hoping I won’t need to use it in that respect for obvious reasons, but at least if my ticker does go bonkers it’ll give a better reading.

Hi I am interested in this new device so how do you take the readings ie which is the best way and do you think it’s worth the extra money!

Well, you can take a reading by placing two fingers on each top pad, or you can chose a 6 lead reading by placing your fingers on the pad as before, but you let the bottom pad touch your leg or left ankle. I personally do think it’s worth the extra money.

If you just contact it with fingers on each hand where do the extra four tabs come in?

I don’t follow, what do you mean? There are 3 tabs on the device. 2 on top and 1 on the bottom which makes contact with your leg or left ankle. If you watch the video shown on the website linked above it shows how readings can be taken.

Sorry! Didn't see the video and only saw the photo showing the two sensors on top just like the original model has.

Does this new model allow you to mount it on the back of your phone like you can with the original?

If not I think I'd forget to bring it with me or possibly lose it when I'm out.

Ha ha, don’t apologise lol. At present there is no mount for your phone only a case. I’m not too struck on the case as it’s leather and won’t be as durable as the old felt type case. It’s not as flat as the previous model, so not sure if they’ll make a phone holder.

Thanks for explaining.

I can see this working for women with big purses but for men... maybe as a at-home unit. Hope they don't discontinue the original. It's certainly good enough to let you know if you're in an arrhythmia and a general idea of your heart rate.
