New Kardia 6L now available in UK

Hi guys,

Just thought I’d give you a heads up that from today the new Kardia 6L is available to order.

For those that don’t know much about this new Kardia it’s a 6 lead EKG whereby you can place it on your leg or ankle to get a better reading.

Link below to the website. It’s pricey, but I think it’s worth it for the peace of mind.

Glad I'm not alone! Felt such a tit! X

Nope, you are certainly not alone! Trouble is I don’t ever attach mine to anything. Just in the case and straight in my pocket. Then you pull your phone or wallet out and then it comes out without you knowing! 🤦🏼‍♂️ drawback of wearing skinny fit jeans lol

Hi DD :-) it doesn't look very different from the old Kardia.

I am not sure I understand about it giving a better reading than the old Kardia , either the Kardia can detect AF or it can't regardless of the model.

Hi Doodle, because it gives a 6 line reading as opposed to a 1 line on the original Kardia it means that this gives more information for a Dr or consultant to better diagnose symptoms. But you are right in the sense that it will recognise exactly the same conditions as the old device.

Thank you for your response DD :-) I use my Kardia to keep track of my P-AF and the readings are not seen by a Doctor so it is fine for me and I won't need to rush off and buy the new one ...

That’s fair enough, to be honest if I hasn’t have lost my second one I wouldn’t have rushed out to get another. I use my Apple Watch most of the time, but whilst it will detect AF, it won’t detect Tachycardia etc which I still get time to time post ablation.

I saw it on the UK website yesterday but still saying 'US only' on the one. Just had an email from them saying it will be mid-sept release in the UK. In the meantime contemplating the 6 lead though not sure whether to hang for the Skylab AF ring. For those with the Kardia how easy is the emailing of readings (don't want to pay the subscription) and what format does it come in? TY

That’s strange, I ordered yesterday and it’s out for delivery today. Maybe they are out of stock due to demand. To be honest I would not bother with the premium subscription. It’s a waste of money and too expensive in my opinion. The difference is without premium the recordings are stored on the phone as opposed to the cloud. But you can with a simple press of the screen save the recording to email or iCloud for example.

Hi Purkinje :-) I use my Kardia with an Ipad and email the recording to myself to save in a folder , it is as easy to send as two clicks on the mouse ,When it reaches my PC it just opens with a click of the mouse on my laptop. I have never noticed the format, when in P-AF I am happy if I can see anything...

'email' is actually the wrong name for it. When you select email it asks you where to save it, and remembers the path used last time. I use a folder called Kardia in my Docs folder on Dropbox. That way, I just say 'save to dropbox' and then I have access on my phone, tablet or laptop, or can truly email it anywhere if I wish. It seems to me that the subscription service just provides free and automatic online storage, and nothing else.

Thanks... Obviously one department not talking to the other! Think I will head over to the page and order.

Yeah, I would. The Sky Labs ring sounds great, but it’s still a while off from release what I have read.

.. And just before ordering, checking compatibility. Have Lenovo P2 running Android 6.0.1 - anyone else have similar and the app runs okay?

My advice would be to check the Google Play Store to see what reviews say. I can only speak about iPhone compatibility.

Have used the 6L quite a few times and so far so good. It was a bit slow to pair with the phone but once done it was fine. Traces are clear and easily emailed glad I bought this one.. Thanks everyone for the advice.

That’s good to know. It will give the EP or arrhythmia nurses a better picture go by. I’ve luckily have only had to use mine twice. I thought I’d lost it the other day, but realised I’d left it at home! That would’ve been the 3rd Kardia I’d have lost 😩😳😬
