All good with my ablation ...happy bird!

Good morning all!

Well I survived ablation no 2. I was much calmer this time as I'm desperate for my life back, the last 6 months have especially been bad. Anyway 5 hrs laterthey managed to that isolate 4 veins and other pesky bits of AF/flutter and Dr Graham is happy and I am too. Also he will be prepared to do another ablation if needed, before it was pace and ablate next option but with the success of this one Its worth touching up. Had a few odd beats but this is normal and I'm not gonna stress.

Anyway...I need advice, I'm having the most excruciating pain in both my shoulders ...no idea why. I'm not soft but this bloody hurts, I'm painkillered up to the eyeballs but still no relief. I can't stand the thought of a&e so gonna ring urgent care but wanted to know has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal...never heard of it before with an ablation? Its a constant pain like some evil imp taking several icepicks to shoulders? ( I must be recovering my dramatics are returning!!)

Cheers xoxox

Hi Booboo

I've had 3 ablations and have never experienced the pain you describe having in your shoulders. I didn't have any pain afterwards apart from one very brief period, but that lasted seconds. If I were you I would ring the 111 NHS advice line asap and seek reassurance that all is well, but for your pain to be excruciating - that just doesn't sound right to me and I would be suspecting an infection. Are you able to ring the ward you were in?

Sorry you have that. Not heard of it before although some slight pain between the shoulders is not un known. Get checked out as others have said.

Sounds awful, I'd get it checked ASAP, maybe infection.
