Evening all or whatever local time it is with you. I'm in the Midlands (UK) and have had AF and hypertension for many years. AF been a pain at times but reasonably controlled with meds. Hypertension being investigated at the moment to see if a specific cause. I'm a nurse so understand the conditions and treatment etc not that means I want it to carry on or that I haven't got anything to learn... Loads to know and not enough time. That's me... Now back to our alcohol free wine (gave up the booze a year ago) and toasted tea cakes.
Just hello: Evening all or whatever... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Just hello
Hello from Perth Australia. I’m enjoying my Sunday morning lie in with my little dog looking at me wondering when I’m going to get up and take her for a walk 😃🇦🇺
Welcome to your world Best advice is go to AF Association website and read all you can then ask anything here. If you really do understand the condition you are better educated than most doctors.lol 😁
Hello fellow Midlander! This is a great place to find out about AF,knowledge is power. Good luck with the investigation.xx
G'day Purkinje,
Welcome to the world of AF. Sorry its happened though.
I'm in Cornwall, UK although when first diagnosed with paroxysmal AF in Jan 2010 I was in Surrey. Control mine with meds and diet/food planning.
Good luck on your journey.
John
Welcome to our forum Purkinje. You've come to the right place for any advice. Feel free to ask any questions and we always say that there's no such think as a daft one.
Your best start in helping yourself is to eat more of a plant based diet and not consume any foods that contain artificial additives. Sweeteners were a certain trigger for my AF. Lots of people swear that taking magnesium taurate or citrate helps, others add magnesium flakes to their bathwater or spray it on in oil form. Oh yes, sugar, caffeine and alcohol have been mentioned as triggers too.
Jean
Thanks for all the welcomes.
Welcome. Everyone here is wonderful with a wealth of knowledge and concern for one another. I had. Afib and had an ablation and BP is normal now! My best from California US
WOW! I would have thought that a glass of red wine with alcohol might have a calming effect but I'm sure you know what you are doing.. By the way, I treasure my 3 years in the midlands Rushden, Chelveston, in an earlier life with the USAF.
