What works for me

A little information on whats worked for me . I have PAF. ive had two ablations, one for flutter, one for fib. I also am on Multaq. The last 5 or 6 times I've gone into A fib I've drank maybe 24 oz of liquid, taken a diazapam 5mg and gone to bed and slept about 2 hrs. When I wake up the Afib is gone. I still get Afib about once or twice a year. Thats much better than before the ablations. My husband has dementia so its harder for me to sleep. Yesterday i called my daughter in law who just quit her job abd she came over and sat with him while I napped. Don't know wht this works but grateful it does.

That's an easy solution to your Afib.

The trouble for most people would be getting a prescription for the diazapam. Drinking 24 oz of fluid in a short time could be hard going too, but I'd certainly like to try your method.

Thank you for sharing.

Coincidence! - I checked with my cardiologist when I saw him a few days ago about taking a sleeping tablet the night after a day of af and he said yes quite a few of his patients do & I certainly have been very glad to take small dose if needed.

I also asked about Diazapan & again he said if it helps take one. But, folk do need to check whether appropriate for them so a gp or cardiologist opinion is vital as various medications cannot be taken alongside certain ones. My gp can see from the records that I seldom ask for them.

I have not heard of Multaq before - is it a beta blocker?

Multaq is dronaderone a relative of amiodarone without the iodine. Made by Sanofi Aventis it had great hopes when released about ten years ago but little used now.

Interesting Bob - I didn't realise it was a relative of amiodarone

No chance of my doctor giving me another prescription for diazepam even though I’ve told him it does help me a great deal. I only need to have a 2mg of diazepam but he still won’t give me any. Glad you have a understanding doctor
