3 Month Post Ablation Check

Well had the 3 month check after my op at freeman's after a bit of a strange few weeks, months, and all OK, seemingly .

Been a interesting 3 months with highs and lows, was doing ok until a couple of weeks ago, walking daily with the odd flutter, hiccup felt, then went on holiday abroad and was out of breath after being ill week before , then diagnosed with flutter and had to be cardio inverted in lanzarote, bit of a nightmare . Up until that point had been doing well with a good 1.5-2 mile a day walk and some swimming odd days thrown in. As usual it seems lately something had to happen, I got a chest infection after a cold, felt lousy, even went to docs and they commented, "oh your HR is high at 140 and BP a little high" , "itl be the virus just run down ", basically, a "here's some antibiotics, yes your fine to go away!", saying the rest will do you good, something my EP raised his eyebrows at when I told him this week , he said you were likely in flutter all that week and going away with raised pulse and BP, just come here if it happens again or your not feeling well .

It is weird since being cardio inverted my pulse is now very regular, as it had been a little erratic at times since the op. A "settling period" I was told to expect.

I've been told its still early days and still a lot of healing 12 weeks in after my 7 hour Op in April ,stay relaxed and keep exercising going, and importantly "not to worry" , as we don't with heart matters do we 😂. Ep has said if flutter returns I'm straight in for touch up, no waiting list, and it won't be as extensive as first op, not ideal but reassuring he's on point if it's needed .

Just got home felt better after the visit and was thinking, OK! back to being more laid back and I love the ocd routine of home, so all good... Then!! Came home Weds after the appointment and a water pipe had burst in upstairs bathroom, flooded the house, in particular the living room , with all new carpets, sofas, newly decorated etc, perfect timing, not! It was akin to a scene from the movie Titanic and the stairs ,no exaggeration, and now moved into a hotel for the duration until they asses the total damage, drying etc ..

I think 2019 should just pop along it's way (polite version), looking on bright side, well insured and they have been good so far, very quick to react and helpful. I've had every dinghy, fishing, "your own pool" joke going off friends, soon to be ex friends, that's kept me amused 😂.

Was chatting to someone in hotel last night and she said about the "moon in retrograde" some phenomenon that brings such events , made me smile, I thought, you've no idea, if you knew the half about the rest haha.

Hope everyone's good, been missing a little lately because of all the dramas. Off to get a swim in before work and some breakfast, take care all, and as they say in Madagascar movie I watched loads with my son , "smile and wave boys" .

Oh my. I am getting anxious just reading your post! Thankfully you seem to have an EP on the ball who has your corner, a lot to be thankful for. But no wonder you want to see the back of 2019. So sorry about your house flooding, I hope your heart stays calm.

Thanks Irene,

Just a case of get on with it now, was a little bit anxious how it would affect me, but been OK so far , and well insured so let them worry about it is what they've told me, been brilliant so far can't fault them. Couple of weeks inconvenience suppose there's worse off than me in Richmond with the awful floods etc, poor things out their homes for 6+months, always someone worse off 👍

Ian.
