I haven't posted on the forum for a long while but need some reassurance from members. I have been AF free for at least 3 years following insertion of a pacemaker for sick sinus syndrome, bradycardia, pauses Tec. Having been ill for the past week, I had a hospital appointment yesterday and after tests was told I have bladder cancer. I have been scheduled for a biopsy operation on 15 August. I was calm about it as I half expected what is was. I went to bed around 9pm and have been awake all night with a racing heart. I took my blood pressure and pulse a while ago. BP seemed ok, pulse was 83 which is high for me. It is usually 60 as set by my pacemaker. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you. I am nearly 74 years old.

I can't give any advice but just wanted to wish you well, even though you expected the news it was probably on some level shocking resulting in your high heart rate. Please do come back and let us know how you are.
Thank you Irene , I appreciated your post. It was a shock as I just thought it would only be kidney stones, not bladder cancer. I will know more following my op on the 15th, what grade, options etc. I follow the posts every week but rarely input anything as my AF has been stable for a long while. The forum is such a help to those who are having so much going on with their heart.
With best wishes
Carol
