Does anyone suffer with horrid side effects on Apixaban?

Apixaban side effects
No. Been taking it for c 3 years .i started on 5mgX 2 daily ...now down to 2.5mgx 2 daily.I have permenent Afib. and a thyroid 'complication' but that is all.
just curious why they lowered your Axiban dose? I know 2.5mg bid is ok for people over 80/under 135lb/kidney problems. However I chose to just take that dose for myself (Female/80/145lbs/no kidney issues) instead of 5mg bid when I realized that my male neighbor (175lb) and others who weigh alot more than me are on 5mg so if they do ok with that why not the 2.5mgs bid for me. I don't like being on it at all, wish I had stayed on my alternative anti coagulants instead.
No, and I’ve been taking it for five and a half years.
What type of side effects are you thinking of? We are all different in our reaction to drugs but if you are concerned, it’s best to check with your doc - the reaction could be from some other cause.
I saw my doc today and he doesn’t think it is the Apixaban. My BP is all over the place, my body just aches all the time and I have a bleeding nose most days (which is the Apixaban of course) I have also put on weight. I did have ablation 1 July maybe I am expecting too much too soon. From someone who is glass half full I feel totally defeated a the moment and maybe I am looking for something t blame! It’s nice tot read positive answer. thank you
Four years and none that I’m aware of.....
No, and you shouldn't have regular nosebleeds with it. I think something else is going on.
I am having my nose cauterised tomorrow so perhaps that will help.
Yes, I have side effect similar to yours, dizziness, nose bleed, joint pain headaches. They are all common side effects of the drug. The NOACS are quite toxic medications but the alternative to not taking them is a 3-5 times more risk of stroke, particularly if you suffer AF. Something I dont want is a stroke! Maybe talk to your doc about trying a different one. Do some research on the NOACS and compare what side effects differ. I am a compulsive researcher and find the more we are informed the less we have to fear.
Hi
I felt ill on Apixiban, got very bad stomach acid, and the most scary feelings sometimes when I went to bed. Now on warfarin.
Been on it for 2 years. Never had a problem with it.
I didn’t get nosebleeds but it made my legs ‘heavy’’ when out walking & my joints ache, & if I did any physical work my muscles ached terribly the day afterwards. Xarelto had made my joints ache too, before my GP swapped me over to Apixaban. Yet it doesn’t affect lots of other people thank goodness? As others have observed, we’re all different. Sorry to hear about your problem & hope you can find a symptom free alternative!
Can anyone tell me if there are other makers of Apixaban apart from Eliquis. My reason is that I can only take one type of Levothyroxine and Boots kindly get that in for me ( I am allergic to some fillers others use). I wonder i this is the same with the Apixaban?
Been on Apixiban for 3 years ...no problems whatsoever. Well, not as I am aware of.
